What would happen if Doncaster got promoted to SL?

It wont happen, at least not this year. But say next year, they won promotion, then in SL there would be a conflict as two teams would have the same nickname. Doncaster Dragons and and Les Catalans(Dragons) would have the same name. Which brings another question to mind, are Perpignan the Perp. Dragons? Is it wrong to call them that?

Why was there no conflict similar to Redcliffe and Gold Coast?

Good question. I know Doncaster has unveiled plans for a brand new 15,000 seat stadium to be built over the next few years.

I think plans to call the new French side Perpignan have now been ditched in favour of using Les Catalans. So I think people will just call them The Catalans (direct translation) instead of the dragons, despite the logo?

The Doncaster dragon logo is blue, and Les Catalans' is red. So perhaps there wouldn't be a conflict? Or perhaps if Doncaster were to be promoted eventually they would just stick with their town name (like Hull FC)?

Ah ok. Fair enough that they might just be Doncaster, especially since, as far as I know they have not complained thus far. Interesting that Perpignan has been ditched...what will it actually say in the SL table for instance? The Catalans?

I'd imagine it will say Les Catalans, kept in French for the European flavour?

I guess Catalans is a region while Perpignan is a town, so perhaps the change was so they could attract a wider interest without any inter-town issues or barriers?

Ah ok, makes sense to me. Like the sound of Les Catalans anyway. Is ti true they will take two games to Spain?

Being close to the border and using that regional name, I think they'd be fools if they didn't at least try to get some potential northern Spanish fans onboard.
