What a dud buy vagana is proving to be. his defense is terrible. He let in two tries last week, and two more today which were very very soft. He isnt reading the opposition at all. Send him to premier league for a couple of weeks, and lets see what this Vince Mellars has to offer(it cant be any worse than Vagana)

I'll reserve my judgement on the exact number of those tries could be attributed to Vagana until I watch the game again. At least one of the occasions I believe you are referring to (ie. Vagana chasing hard on Patten) I'd ask you to take a second look. I'll concede that Vagana may have over committed there, but Reick was disgustingly nervous and Gallen (although he had a very strong game) was quite lazy on the inside.

Another of the tries would have you asking Vagana to stop Lolesi (have to confirm [?]) while he was diving over the line.

I've said all along our defence on the line and on the fringe is woeful. The boys appear to be so nervous and tentative. Ryan and Anasta should never have scored those tries and McGoldrick was downright pedestrian out there today.

I'm leaning towards Kent at o/s centre and Bird at 5/8 for next year.

Dunno about Vagana, it could be self preservation instinct, it could be that he doesn't want to put himself on the line until we look like we're actual premiership contenders and there's something worth sticking your neck out for.

This reminds me of Les Davidson when he first came to the Sharks and he was ordinary for 2 years before getting into the spirit of things.

I made my suspicians on Vagana known a few weeks ago, and each new game does little to change that view unfortunately.

I agree on his failure to commit to patten, that was poor defence from a player of his experience.

Vagana would be better with a decent halfback and a five eigth. I mean at the moment you have a lock playing five-eighth and a reserve grade halfback at best playing halfback. He is not really getting the type of ball that he needs to be a gamebreaker!!

By the way his defence has always been a problem even at the dogs where he missed tackles.

Note: I would have to say that your whole backline was worse or about the same as Vagana today, so don't put him down after a few bad weeks.

He will be better next year when you have Kimmorley and Dykes as the halves!!!

You arse clown. Have you ever seen Kent play? Even lasyt year he was one of our most solid. He is yet to play a bad game in firsts this year. i still cant believe they took him off. He is going to be second choice to Noddy of course, but IMHO he must be considered for either 5/8, wing, centre or fullback should peach retire and Simmo go back to PL.

yo i so agree on kent. rock solid - he's gotta be there. he's quick enough for the wing and can tackle around the middle of the ruck so basically anywhere in the backline. adds great utility /versatility value as well.

Reick and vagana were absolute rubbish yesterday.
Vagana is the worst defender we've ever payed money for. Yes he is shite . Last week I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt but after yesterday's disgracful effort I'm thinking get him off the feild. Instead off trying to tackle a bloke 5 metres out he goes for a f**king one on one strip ...every f**king time.... useless waste of money.
Reick put in his usual confused , clumsy , trip over his own feet kind of display I've grown to expect from him.
f**king pussy's had that game and blew it totally.
