What is your earliest recollection of a footy game?

who was playing, what season, what do you remember about the game?

would have been from season 1991, when i was five. Would have been one of the Channel 10 Sunday night matches...Manly vs. someone maybe? Just after that boofhead Graham Lowe came back from heart surgery.

the 1977 grand final parra vs st george..9-9 all at fulltime.parra scored late in the game and Mick Cronin had the chance to win it after Muggleton scored in the corner.he was never going to kick tho cause his feet were all over the place as he went into kick it..for some reason i remember that ..

it was def. at brookvale oval and it was just after graham lowe came back from his surgery. Can't remember who they were playing.

Apparently we all watched the 1990 grand final at my cousins place out around penrith (that was of course the year penrith first made the gf), but i have no recollection of it. Also apparently our old next door neighbours were big balmain fans and were really supporting them in the leadup to the '88 decider against our bulldogs, but once again i am too young to have any recollection.

Around 1987, Balmain played Parramatta, with the Tigers winning.

1987 at redfern oval , souths v canterbury maybe.

it was definetley an eye opening experience.

1969 Final - Tigers beat Manly and won the right to play (and subsequently) beat Souths in the GF. The rest is history

I have a very faint memory of watching '73 GF, otherwise the first game I attended in person Manly v Balmain in 1975 (the then record crowd at Brookie). The only I can actually remember is having to sit on my Dad's shoulders to see anything.

The first super definite moment I recall is John Dorahy dropping a bomb in the 1978 Preliminary Final, which Manly scored off.

Halifax v Somebody at Thrum Hall in 1970. I remember being there, I remember it being Halifax but I have no recollection of the opponents.

91 GF ... I lived in St Marys then and there was a big street party.

First game I attended was Penrith v St George in 1992 at Penrith Park. Mick Potter (my favourite player) was in doubt all week with the 'flu but he played so it made my day.

I think it was 1980 or 81. I remember being on the hill at Redfern Oval with Souths vs Newtown.

newcastle v manly 1997 albert scoring the winner.

doesnt seem that long ago, only 9 years. but im only 18 and followed basketball and baseball closely before this.

1999 Origin Game 1. I only saw part but everytime I watched Rogers would score points.

The first match I remember watching that got me hooked was Brisbane vs. Storm at ANZ Stadium in 2000. 18 all draw that was edge of your seat stuff.
