Stars???? What stars??

Ashton is a good fullback. Richards a good winger, Dallas and Calderwood are hacks. The 2 centres are hopeless. The halves are terrible. The only thing they have going for them is Palea'asina and Higham. The rest either aren't up to it yet or are well over the hill. The coach isn't much chop. My granddad would have success with the Bradford squad. Noble has shown with GB, he is an ordinary coach and tactician.

Same could be asked of them last year, where the answer being they didn't cope with long term absence/injury of key memebers of their forward pack, and missed the finals.

They bought some imports this year but seem to lack the spark and confidence (and spirit) that comes from playing together and for each other. Their results are even worse and the constant changes in coaching staff probably don't help.

They had a top coach before they sacked him. Before this season started, Wigan fans believed they would win the league this year, as they had the best coach in SL.

Problems lie at the top of the club, too many good young players sold off to accomodate average/over-rated/over-paid players.

We'll see if they have a top coach or not. His GB peformance doesn't inspire confidence and all his Dulls sides weren't exactly famous for their tactical play.

Well, they've just announced Phil Bailey is signed for next season.

Not the bloke who did that duet with Phil Collins, but the Cronulla centre that played for Australia once... upon a time... long long ago... in a galaxy - you get the picture.

i dont see how you can call Millward a good coach given his previous recent history. the guy is a stain on the game.

i think noble will turn them around as there is still a lot of season left to play.

relegation ? maybe but hopefully not.

Just Bailey and Barrett will probably take them over the NL1 salary cap.

Add Clinton Toopi to that and they will be well over the cap next year in NL1

Would Barrett and Bailey still be at Wigan in 07 if they're relegated? Surely they'd have had a clause in their contract releasing them if they're not in Superleague?

From memory I dont think Barrett asked for one. And there is nothing wrong with Wigan, they are geting what they deserve the arrogant twats.

Barrett has stated he'll play with them even in NL1. Bailey has an opt out clause if they get relegated.

The RFL will use the grounds criteria for sure as a reason not to relegate, and just hope that someone like KR win the spot.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hull KR win NL1 that they would push to share the KC Stadium with Hull FC so that would make things interesting.

If Wigan do go down it'll be interesting to see the clearout . Barrett has already stated he'll be there regardless of what division they'll be in . NL teams are only allowed one quota player so that means bye bye Dallas , bye bye Moran , bye bye Vaealiki bye bye Pa'aliasina , Seu Seu is retiring . Unless of course uncle Mo can wangle the Kolpak rule . So it's Barrett on the complete Wigan salary cap and the rest on match payments only . It couldn't happen to a nicer team :) I just hope Harlequins can get some points on the ladder .
