When was the last time you looked forward to a game?

Not trying to start shit or see who's a bigger or more loyal fan.

A few years ago I would make time no matter what else was on to see the Eels game. I got 'ready' for every game, no matter who we were playing I felt the game was important and / or we could win if we played well. Storm, Broncos, Manly, Doggies any of them.

Honestly, I haven't felt that for a couple of seasons to the point where I hope to catch the game if I have time, or last night where I switched channels at half time and forgot to come back till 10 mins in the second half.

I never feel like we're going to win, I just hope we compete. 3 years ago and every year prior if we lost the local derby to Penrith at home i'd be filthy. These days we take the 7 point loss and move on with the weekend.

Can't rem the last time we played well away, and our style of play is so predictably boring. The boys tried hard last night against Penrith, and we're all pretty happy. It's like owning the shit kid getting participation awards.
Very sad time out Parramatta way. It should never get like this in a salary capped sport with a junior base our size.

Probably the back end of 2009, and early 2010 back before they white-anted and then knifed Anderson...

It's been pretty shit since - but thanks to Ricky's clean out 2014 is looking up :D.

the gf rematch in 2010 after storm were stripped of their premierships. the last great victory this club has had. 24-10 i think. Hayne vs Slater aswell.

it lived up to the hype.

I look forward to every game. Just because the salary cap (and impatience from the fans and board) has stopped us from rebuilding as quickly as we'd like doesn't mean I'm any less excited about winning our next game.

We've won three games already this year. There's no reason we can't win a fourth.

A rare 80 minute effort today was a good start.

Thats a big effort mate.

Fact is previous decisions have put us in a place no professional team should be in. It's like we're an expansion team.

We aren't rebuilding, we're trying to build a whole new thing after 66 years existance which is terrible. Fans deserve much better. Not every year is gonna be good for the team results wise, but there is an obligation to at least have a full strength squad that is competitive.

The squad were competitive today, and they should be competitive every week.

They had two ex-internationals in the backline, two ex-internationals and an ex-Origin player in the pack. They also have one of the (former) best players in the world to come back from injury.

But due to injury and suspension we were forced to field five rookies, along with two backups in the spine.

Probably the start of the season. Especially the win over the Warriors. But like the last two years I get less enthusiastic as the season wears on. At the start of the year I was making an effort to go all the games I could go to, and if not I'd try to watch them at live at least. But I can't really be f**ked doing that any more. I'd rather make other plans for my wknds so if we're on Channel 9 I'll watch if not I'll listen to the radio and watch the replay when I get a chance. I was thinking of going tonight but with recent performances I figured it'd be a waste of time and money so went to the pub and watched it instead. There's only so much losing and thrashings fans can take before they generally lose interest and find other things to do with their time. And there's a level of sub par performances that fans can take before it really becomes not worth their while.

The ex internationals being Tonga, Roberts, Moi Moi and Maitua? C'mon man. We could field Mick Cronin at centre ex-international doesnt mean competitive. Hell we have so much depth we cut an Origin prop end of last season. Diabolical mess.

I am glad you are not just blaming fans now. Sure fans might get impatient but a soundly run club doesn't just blow in the wind trying to keep fans happy.

The one good thing that I have found during this sh!t period is that I no longer get too concerned about the results of matches. There was a time when I used to get fired up if Parra copped a dud decision or the opposition scored a try but now it doesn't bother me. Still watch every game though.

Any elected body's first responsibility is to ensuring it is re-elected. That means pandering to voters.

how could you not look forward to the penrith v parra games.Have your band wagon wheels come off.As a panther i dont care how bad we are going or if we are any chance of winning i love these games.Me and a few parra fan mates always go to these games .The banter between parra and penrith fans is what makes these games so much fun
If you lot give up on the team what hope do they have .We are the perfect example of a team way of last year with a few changes have turned it around. The same will happen for the eels next year just keep the faith

Just like Phil Gould and Ivan Cleary have been pandering to the Penrith fans who vote.;-)

Proper reforms have happened at other clubs and can happen here if people have the kahunas.

Our fans are not entirely to blame for our predicament.

It's easier blame faceless fans then blame the elected people that take on the responsibility of their positions. BTW id be giving the new lot a least 6 months before we start sinking the knives in.... Or is it to late.

Fans play a role but they are not entirely to blame as Pou has suggested in the past.
