Where is Springfield!!!???

Righto serious question ladies and gentleman. Where is Springfield?? Like I mean the one off the simpsons?? I believe they give clues off in most episodes, but its obvious its meant to be a mystery...so I was wondering if anyone knew. If not we can try working it out by putting forward clues that we've heard and stuff. Please help me!!!

There are several Springfields in the US. Massachusetts and Illinois are 2 and there others I think. I don't think the Simpsons really gives clues - it's more like a running gag that they don't really identify the state, and they pretend to come close to doing so without really giving a specific location. I can't name episodes, but it seems to me I've seen a couple of times where they've almost showed it on a map. but kept the map blocked by someone or something.

Canadian Steve is right. I remember one episode where there was a map in the Simpsons living room of all the states that they have been banned from visiting... it was appropiately obscured. Mind you, we know that the Simpsons' Springfield isnt in New York State.

I don't know of an abbreviated NT state in the US.

Well I also know it isn't in Alabama and Missouri. This whole concept actually hit me when they went to Brazil and little Ronaldo wanted to send somethin to Lisa, but said i didn't know the state. And she said "Well if you look at the clues you can figure it out."

they do mention 'this northern kentucky family' in one episode which is done like a documentary on the simpsons

but that episode is done as if the simpsons family are real life actors playing the role of 'the simpsons' in a tv show...and it doesn't say where the tv show 'simpsons' are based

And do you know the "answer"?

Kentucky doesn't fit, IMO, because Kentuckians would have a southern accent which the Simpsons don't have.

I haven't seen all the episodes, but my sense is that there's not supposed to be an "answer". It's an intentional mystery by the creators of the program.
