Which other NRL players are likely to succeed in the NFL?

Which NRL player other than Hayne is most likely to succeed in the NFL?

After today's game Parra vs Cronulla you'd have to think that Semi Radradra and Valentine Holmes would be good bets to succeed in the NRL.

Who insinuated that? I certainly didn't. My post was in reply to someone claiming he doesn't need to memorise a complex playbook, only the plays he is involved in. I merely pointed out that being a running back, that is every offensive play and its variations. You replied with "yeah but they don't need to be intelligent."

Your irrational hatred of NFL fans means you are just reading what you want to read so you can claim we are all delusional. Maybe try reading what people are actually writing and try arguing the actual points people are making.

Can you provide just 1 example of any NFL fan saying anything like this?

You are worse than the people you are trying to ridicule.

Your total inability to give any credit where it's due shows what a massive sycophant you are.

You clearly where in the "he has no chance" brigade, and now that it looks like he has a chance you keep making up reasons why his achievements aren't that good.

I'd be more interested in finding out how many NFL players would be able to walk straight into 80 minute League . . . one tried in the late '70's didn't he from memory

Manfred Moore.

He lasted a couple of weeks for Newtown. On the wing for 2 weeks until he got injured and got on the next plane home.

People need to relax. Hayne hasn't made it yet himself. The media is acting like he's a bonafide star about to sign a five year deal.

The Niners are yet to play guys in front of him at the position which means they're very happy and are evaluating everyone else.

He's looked good in punt returns but the transition to those was never going to be the hard part. Running the ball against the top defensive lines and etc is a whole other deal.

As I've stated in another thread. To me,this is hype to sell subscriptions.

And with the hype, especially from Matty Johns, the Back Page and all the other outlets,it's been a big promotion (suck-in) to get people to sign up.

Should have waited until after next weeks cuts.

IF there was a player that would come close to getting an actual starting position, and it involve in at least 2 years of building up his frame, and getting his head ready would be Roberts.

His elusive speed off the mark would be his biggest drawcard.

Haynemania comes from the US media. John Madden basically gauranteed he would nfl roster this year after that 2nd trial game. He said if 49ers dont sign him theres no way he clears waivers so i think he is in with more just a chance at this point, unless u know something Madden doesnt.

Madden opens his mouth with a vested interest to draw attention towards his computer game.

He as well is trying to cash in on the gullible.

They're still at in here. Been playing fantasy leagues for a few years and they think they're Bill Walsh.

This!!! Most of the NFL forum brigade are nothing more than fan boys who are incapable of providing any rational debate or critical analysis. There are some exceptions like Kurt Faulk but it is quite laughable reading some of these posts. As if John Madden would compromise his reputation and integrity to sell a couple of computer games. I am so sure he needs the extra few dollars he might get if talking up Hayne would sell extra copies (doubtful as even that would be).

It's amusing seeing NFL-first league fans moving the goal posts so desperately. First we're told that Hayne would be nowhere near the final roster, and most people were glaringly wrong about that, and now these same people say with the utmost confidence that Hayne is the only one who can make it, he's an exception, a special case, no other league player comes close to Sir Jarryd Hayne. Even though a few months ago Hayne was a basket case as far as most the resident NFL experts were concerned.:lol:

Most of the Americans I've spoke to like what they've seen of Hayne so far and they aren't half as dismissive of the prospect of other league players making the transition as the Australian NFL-stans on this forum are.

It's funny and also sad that the bulk of the doubt and negativity is coming not from born-and-bred NFL fans or Americans but from Aussie Madden Experts who can't stand seeing the USA Master Race™ myths being dispelled, and also generally seem mad that their sport is getting mainstream attention. Sports hipsters, sports hipsters everywhere.

I reckon there are a few more NRL boys who could make a decent fist of it if they were so inclined.

I dont buy this at all. He also has a vested interest in not looking foolish and EA sports own the game and pay madden for the rights to use his name and im pretty sure that is a set figure not a percentage of sales. HOF coach, long time NFL caller plus his involvement with the game i dont think he needs to sell himself for a few sales.

I'll be honest, I had huge doubts over Hayne making the transition to the NFL. I thought he had the skill set required but that he had gone over too late. I have been massively inpressed with his displays so far. What has impressed me the most his his ability to identify the right blocks to follow and his explosiveness when bursting through a hole. These concepts are fairly foreign to a league player. What he needs to work on now is to lower his running height as he is running much too upright and on is pass protection. He needs to better protect the quarterback.

Have no doubt he will make a 53 man roster, which is an achievement that I didn't believe was possible as he is a 27 year old competing for as a rookie against guys who have played the game all their lives. This is a huge achievement and I expect he will be the punt and kick returner for the 49ers along with being the 3rd or 4th string running back. Congratulations Jarryd on what is truly a great achievement for an Australian athlete.

I realise all that you have explained. But when there is an opportunity to mouthpiece the organization that pays for your services, you do willingly oblige.

Hayne had f**k all game time or opportunities. Is it normal for teams to kick the ball out and not allow the team a chance to return the ball? Or was it a tactic to stop Hayne from rippi g them to shreds on kick returns?

He didn't look bad compared to his teammates. He just didn't do anything highlight worthy.

Absolutely nothing to do with Hayne.
Mark Tookey of 2015 vintage could be standing back to return the kick off and the Kicker's aim is put it out of the back of the endzone for a touch back.

up against a good run stuffing defence and yards were hard from the backfield.

once again showed that he is dangerous in open field. good move on his reception to pick up an extra few yards. those sort of yards after the catch are the difference between 4th and short or 1st down.

still a good shot to be the specialist kick and punt returner. hard calls remain on whether the niners will carry 4 or 5 RBs with the decision to be made between Hunter or Hayne if it's cut to 4. they could still carry all 5.
