Which players remind you of past players?

Seen off another board, but i thought it would be an interesting topic for league fans

What current day players remind you of players from the past? Be it big and tough, fast and agile, which guys from the 2003 crop are a flashback to the old days?

For me, O'Meley reminds me somewhat of Gillespie. Not the biggest or tallest man on the field, but tough as buggery

The running style of Phil Graham reminds me of Brett Mullins in his heyday as well

Cheers,
Moffo

Phil Graham reminds me so much of Mulloz it just isn't funny. Next year he'll be bulked up a bit so he probably wont as much. Francis Meli reminds me of Lesley Vainikolo. Terry Martin reminds me of David Furner.

Not really a past player though is it, they are about the same age, Francis might even be older.

Still a fair comment though.

Anasta is a hell of a lot like Fittler - maybe he'll see the good sense in playing lock.

Graham is a Mullins clone, surely?? Must have arranged that at ANU.

Ryan Girdler a better looking Michael O'Connor?

Minichello - Garry Jack (just a little)

Yes you're right, but he still reminds me of him so I'm allowed to say it gentleman.

I'm a Freddie fan!!! And, I didn't say Anasta was fit to tie his laces. He might be one day though, things have come far too fast for him.

I just think his build, and style of play (kicking passing game) is similar to Fittlers'. He has a step, although no-one has ever had a step like Fittler's. I also think he should play lock, and for a time I think Fittler was the best lock in thw world (remember the Roo tour), and could have gone on to be the best lock ever. As it is, he'll have to settle for bveing one of the best 5/8's ever!!!

Mat Rogers was the spitting image of his old man. Sludge had a better running style though.

Apart from that, the differences are negligable.

I've heard people comparing luke lewis and steve rodgers of recent. But since I never did see steve rodgers play I don't know how accurate that comparison is.

I saw Sludge play and I had a flashback in one match this year when watching Lewis. Sludge had a 'glide' about him when he ran and changed directions and Lewis does also at times...

as said, Graham is Mullins long lost little brother... deadset Graham is almost identical style etc of mullins

and terry martin reminds of furner aswell

O'Hara reminds of tallis, only in the amount of passion they show, i think O'Hara will be NSW's version of Gorden Tallis when he playes origin

Matty Elliot reminds me of Carl barron, love his dry witty humour
