Who are the top three most supported clubs/teams in Melb outside the AFL?

I'd say the soccer team would be number one. They win on crowd averages, not sure about TV, but they are definitely no. 1.

I doubt the Victory's crowds would be the same if they had to compete directly with the the AFL like the Storm do tbh. They basically have the entire off-season to themselves and have no competition except for interstate cricket.

No more point than any in fight club, officer.

Whilst Victory get more to games Storm get more watching on pay TV. Storm also have higher income and national profile (well they do now!). So depends on how you measure it.

Figures suggest the Storm have the Vic Bushrangers covered too.

So if the Storm are one of the top two most-watched sides in Melb/Vic outside of the AFL then you would think they'd have a place in the supposed sporting capital of the world.

The Bushrangers got 42k to see them play Tassie in the Big Bash during the summer. That's a lot more than their average though.

Victory, Storm and Bushrangers now. In five years time Victory will still be #1, but it's going to be interesting to see if the Heart challenge the Storm for #2. Also, the Bushrangers could figure if the T/20s start going off in an IPL-style comp. The Rebels haven't got much hope of making the top 3 at all imo.

Never happened on a single day...

Besides I've been the Melbourne Cup week and attended at least two days each year when i was last in Aus (2005-2007) and only seen 3 or 4 races in that time. The most exclusive area only has viewing access in two or three marquees. 85% of patrons aren't there for the 'sport'
