Last year, we let go of Gibbs and Fifita for a fool with an afro who played like he had an hawaiian shirt on. Our club cleared the decks for him.

This year, Heighno, Ryan, Ellis and lote have or will go. With that much cap gone, who are we clearing the decks for? Or is Sheens just a senile fool?

These moves are not Sheens, they are smart. I would have rubber stamped Ryan/Hino to Cronulla in a minute.

This better be worth it. And worth it worth it, not two-year tuqiri worth it (and that's being generous)

Moving good locker room guys Gibbs, Ryan, Hino, almost Fulton is going to have an impact so they must have a plan outside of Anasta, Pettybourne & Kite.

Im not questioning the decision to let them go, Im just thinking of the next step. Other than the Bryce Gibbs decision, I agree with every other call the club has made in regards to letting players go.
Heighnos best days are gone. When Beau Ryan is your best player for your club, you know you've had a shite season. He is nothing extra.

From what i have heard we arent clearing the decks for anyone major. Humpty and the club have somehow managed to overspend next years cap by quite a bit and they are trying to get under the cap.

Difference is Lotes one year deal will virtually consume no salary cap room as he is on massive third parties. The big point of the article for mine is the word that Fulton is in the process of extending. That is important.

I have said it elsewhere but I am fine with Ryan and Heighno leaving if it has come to that as I think we have enough talent to cover both easily and for less money.

Reality is despite the pre season jibber our squad was nowhere near good enough this season

Tend to agree with this, though I wouldn't have signed Lote, even for one year.

And it appears we are still stuck with Moltzen, Ayshford and Joel f**king Reddy, unless they are punted too (we can only hope).

I like Ryan and he's had a very good year, but he is an honest toiler at the end of the day and realistically won't get any better. Heighington is one of the most overrated backrowers in the game, so no loss on the park. Perhaps a loss off the park but as a fan, I don't give a f**k. These players need a kick up the arse. The issue is Sheens is still the coach so he is just saving his own arse.

I have that fear as well Hybrid but all I can do is judge the results on the field and who we promote etc.

One thing that is for certain is that our current culture is highly flawed and that needs to change.

Don't be so sure that Moltzen is signed sealed and delivered as yet either (it is likely but not guaranteed)

Whats the go with backs? No offense to Lawrence but he had a terrible year and another one of them by him and Ayshford puts us at ineffective chumps in the centres. Is Grant a chance on the wing? Will Tedesco even be back? Are Humble, Sironen and Miller going to get another chance?

I know Sheens has a lot to answer for. But god damn it Lui stuffed so much up at our club. We had a good halfback who just needed to improve his D. Thats it. Its bullshit how the Cowboys can have him and all is forgiven starting next year. Completely understand Canberras anger over Carney. I wouldnt be surprised to see Thurston and Lui carve up next year while we settle for merry go round halves again.

This is just a whisper that has been circulating but it's possible that Sonny Bill will be coming to the club (once again just a whisper I've heard)

I can't see that happening however I'd love him and get rid of Blair.

11. SBW
12. BMM
13. Fulton

Now that would be a backrow that would cause some damage.
