I always thought 7 was the key spot.

Enough partners left to have a decent knock, and if you come in at 5/25 and get a score you look like a hero, whilst if you fail it’s the top 6s fault.

On this basis I think I'm well qualified to join you opening the innings. For my club I have the high distinction of being dismissed on the first ball of the match... twice.. in back-to-back matches....

This was about 5 season ago and the scars still run deep.

I can cover the pom angle and slog sweep at 6. My pop is a pom so I'm a dual citizen. I was a middle order all rounder for my local team a decade ago. I am now past it but I'm a nice guy.
If it helps I can deliberately run the number 11 out for our team.
