Who Has Been Our Best This Season?

Hopefully this pole works, and people dont think it's too early for this. But I would like to see what all my fellow die hards think.

It can evolve over the last few games and the finals.

My pick is Brett Hodgson. He is simply too consistent.

He saves so many tries with his positional play and defensive efforts.

He injects so much attacking potency with speed and playmaking ability.

Provides the experience and knows when a play is on, and when ones not.

He is closely (very closely) following by our maturing halfback.


Then Robbie Farrah.

Then Benji.

Then Skando.

Then Ben Galea

Then Pat Richards

Then Laffranchi

Then Todd Payten

Then Bryce Gibbs

Then Elford

I know it may seem obvious but we've had some great players across the park this.

Brett Hodgson without a doubt!!
He is the best fullback in the comp!
And considering his size he is the toughest gutsiest player pound for pound!
He is as bloody reliable and never gives up!
Years before whenever the opposition put the high ball up I'd be nervous, but knowing he is back there to take it I am confident that he will not stuff it up!

He is a wonderful player to have at the club, and a fantastic role-model for the young-uns!
Without him we definitely would not be sitting in 4th spot!

My personal pick has been Payten. We missed his work ethic in defence when he was injured and, through a full off season, has improved his hitups as well.

No mate I’m not Rob Farrah, just a solid follower of the best rake to play the game.

Yeah Payten has been absolutely solid this year. Have noticed his enthusiasm in defense, and he has the ball skills too.

So far the poll has Brett as clear leader, as expected.

I went with Hodgson but damn it was a tough call to pick just one out of a TEAM that is playing so well.

Hodgson got the vote because win or lose he has put in 100% every week.

I would say that’s up for debate.



Prince is the half back, he guides us around the park and his kicking game is now almost faultless.



But for consistency, leadership and knowing what to do when I would say Brett just pips him.



What a great position to be in though!
