Hey guys now obviously I know that Craig Miller is the Knights assistant first grade coach but what is his coaching/playing pedigree?

Does anyone know?

Since when did Knights staff need 'qualifications'....?

I thought we hired them on 'operation bootstrap'....??!

This is exactly what I have been wondering for some time. He must have some experience because he is I believe the NSW U/19.

This is what it says about him on the official site;

Football Coordinator – Craig Miller
Craig is a former Country representative hailing from Young in the Riverina region. Having been lured to Newcastle to play football in the eighties, serious knee injuries curtailed his playing career, but opened up the door to coaching.

After a very successful career with the Club’s junior teams, he joined the senior coaching ranks in 2000 under the tutelage of former first grade mentor Warren Ryan.

His role has since grown to include, not only the first grade assistant coach duties, but all players’ off-field welfare and education requirements.

I think he had just about all his junior sides competitive every year.

He's not a bad bloke. I dont think he is NRL FG Coaching Material. He is an ex Policeman who I think left the force on medical grounds - something like an injury ot stress leave or something.

He's done well with his stress levels now. I've heard he's a good bloke - but before coming to the Knights not sure whether he had any formal coaching experience. Correct me if I am worng?

Geez I must be old if I am the only one who remembers Craig Miller. I think I have actually seen him play. I beleive he was a foundation player, backrower and as tough as nails. He wasn't a big bloke but he was the hitman in the pack and had a fierce reputation. Seriously you could do with someone like this today, an enforcer in the pack.
