How much f**ken ability do you have to revolutionise the way the game is played when you are on the wing?

That would be low on my criteria when deciding who the best winger is.

Disagree. His ability to change angles when receiving passes at the line was insane. How many times did you see his direct opponent have him covered on the outside, only for the pass to come and Semi is running the inside line to score virtually unimpeded? As you said it is good anticipation but it was a devastating skill that almost no one can replicate and even if they have, nowhere near as often as Semi did.
He was basically stepping his opponent but before he received the ball
Michael O'Connor
one player did this all the time, amazing skill, stepping his opponent. defender but before he received the ball
it was like he had 2 pairs of eyes. he would manipulate the defender to set him up, place him where Micheal needed the defender to be, then Micheal would do his thing, and would time it perfectly with the catch of the pass, the defender would be bamboozled, even before Micheal had the ball in his hands. really silky skills, thats why he scored so many tries, he hated being tackled, loved running, loved scoring tries
agree semi the same, did the unexpected, then using power
Haynes plane did the same , but a different level, power, anticipation, stepping, pace
, gasnier , ponga, did, do most of there bammboozling with the ball in the hands

Grothe's size, speed and trademark ability to break a tackle through sheer strength enabled him to perfectly book-end Parramatta's star studded backline of the early 1980s outside Brett Kenny, Mick Cronin, Peter Sterling and Steve Ella. Along with dual union, and league international Ray Price, these stars formed the nucleus of a side which dominated the New South Wales Rugby League premiership between 1981 and 1986, playing in five Grand Finals, winning four (1981, 1982, 1983, 1986), as well as finishing runner up in 1984, and third in 1985.

Known as "the Guru" due to his long locks and beard in his playing years, as well as his hobby of meditation, he all up played 150 first grade career games for Parramatta, scoring 78 tries. Unfortunately, his club and representative career was restricted by recurring knee injuries.

Grothe represented for Australia in eight Tests between 1982 and 1984 and made the 1982 Kangaroo Tour. He had nine State of Origin appearances for New South Wales between 1981 and 1986.

i would consider the stats of both players, GURU and SEMI
i would say SEMI the better stats
if semi had stayed at the eels, the history books would be alot different,
eels would have kicked ass for sure
