Mbye? Sloan? Ramsay?
I suppose trials will work out the answer...but who do we think will actually have the Round 1 duties v Warriors..

I'm uncertain ...my heart says Sloan but I'm thinking Hook will play it safe w Mbye....

It has to be Sloan. Hook needs to show Sloan that he has full confidence in him and the only way to give him that is by selecting him in round 1. Ramsey and Mbye I doubt. Hook needs Mbye as the utility and Ramsey will be on the wing.

I think it will be Sloan but what if Ramsey has a blinder at fullback and Sloan has a blinder at wing but that why they are called trials,

This is what trials are for.
I hope all 3 (yes Mbye too) are given a good crack and really tested by the opposition. 2 games to pick and I hope stick with for the first few rounds. Either way pretty sure all three will play FB at some point throughout the season.

I am looking forward to seeing whether both Sloan and Ramsey have bulked up and whether that has effected their speed.

Both need to work on their defence and positional play.

Really looking forward to the trials to see whether we have any bolsters for the pack in the likes of Corin and Shereb.

It won’t surprise me to see both Sloan & Ramsey being alternated throughout the long season. I just feel that Hook will be careful in their development in such a crucial position.
Hey Coffs, I don’t really get the rotation thing for such a crucial position.
I mean, were they rotating Ponga or Reece Walsh as 19 year olds?
I get starting in NRL on wing then getting use to NRL speed and physicality but Ramsey has already done that. If he’s good enough to play 1 then he should play there every round in my opinion.

Just further to above comment, Reece Walsh debut last year as an 18 year old in round 7. He then went on to own the fullback spot and play 16 rounds plus played Origin game 2.
So why can Reece Walsh do it but we are all worried about Sloan or Ramsey not being able to play NRL week in week out? They’re older than Reece Walsh.

I just have a gut feeling that Hook will go the ease them in route and avoid burnout.
Sure both Ponga & Walsh at 19 were thrown in the deep end, but their teams also didn’t reach the finals.
Only need to go back a few years with Bellamy at the Storm, when he switched between 3 young fullbacks in Papenhuyzen, Jahrome Hughes, Scott Drinkwater.

He gave them all a chance the entire season before making a decision. As usual they competed in the finals!

Yeah but Ponga and Walsh not playing finals had nothing to do with their form, they both played Origin and we’re shining lights in their teams.
I’d be handing Sloan the number 1 jumper and saying you him you are our long term fullback, we believe that you are the best fullback at the club.

Should be Sloan for sure, but Ramsey had a couple of good touches and chased down the eels winger who was away which was good to see.

Ramsey is someone we cannot loose - neither is Slone.
Slone has some Lord Ted in him. But can hold the ball too much. Need to learn how to tackle.
Still a bit too young and wirey Ramsey needs to be on a wing - But then there is Moga.
I like that thought - On tuff SOB

Surely it has to be Sloane - reminds me a lot of David Peachey. Has a great skill set and a bit of x factor

I like Ramsey, but only as a winger - and maybe not even as a lock in the top squad just yet - i see him as pretty one dimensional, no real ball playing - positioning is questionable and can certainly drop a ball. He has speed to burn though and has a real crack so i see him improving a lot and becoming a long term winger for us

Walsh didn't play origin, got selected but immediately ruled out because of injury

My money is on Sloan being our first choice fullback. If he becomes unavailable for any reason, then there is Ramsey, Mbye, Mogga, and even Lomax all waiting in line.
