Who will be the next NRL CEO?

Well guys with Todd baby now gone, who will be the eventual replacement? Peter V'Landys' has announced that Andrew Abdo, the current NRL Chief Commercial Officer as the interim CEO. He is reported to have a great business and strong accounting background and is thought of highly by V'Landys. Will he be strong enough to carry through to a full time position and get the NRL back to where it should have been?

I'm not too keen on another CEO from any of the clubs taking over. I'm also not keen on Gus Gould - he has no commercial background as far as I know and if he was elected, Mary might have his job longer - oh no!

How do you guys feel and who would you rate for the position?

Glad Greenberg is gone. It’s been long overdue. V’landy made the right decision. Now let’s overturn a few decisions that has not gone our way

1. JDB case proven until found guilty. Is able to play. So Curtis Scott and Mika Sivo are tight to play even though their situations are not any different from a severity perspective
2. Flano is allowed to coach sooner. McIdiot joins Greenberg sacked and gone.

Good riddance to the damn blighter . The bloke should never had been given the reins of power in the first place - more so after his time at the Bulldogs. One could see his attitude towards the game in general when he orchestrated Des Hazler to break his contract with Manly to join his bullythugs. I must say that I actually felt sorry for Manly ( for the very first time in over 50 years ) for the way they had their coach , whom was still under contract , taken from them .

That set the tone for others to break their ‘ iron-clad ‘ contracts with their respective clubs. I would like to know just how much money was wasted by him and his pack of cronies from the 1 Billion that was paid to the NRL by the Tele. stations . By the sounds of it it is all but gone - the mongrel probably even put some of it aside for a big farewell party to be thrown in his honor .

Good riddance to him and rant over ! :rage:

Lots of scuttlebutt about mismanagement (which may well be true), but when I look back at Todd's time in office, the major change was the women's game absolutely started flourishing. When I look back at what Vlandis has achieved it was trying to put racing promotions on the Opera House and being first in line to ask for government money during the current crisis.

Criticize Todd all you like but I personally think the CEO does need to be someone from the clubs. Someone with a strong rugby league background who can be a foil for Vlandis, and not just a front man.

Johnno it was the Commission behind the biggest push getting the woman’s game up and running with Beattie In charge if you want to pat anyone on the back. Todd played his role too but Was not his baby

Fair enough. More kudos to Beattie and the commission if that's the case. Still think we need an NRL man as CEO.

The Dragons are the problem in those cases. They should have stood JDB down themselves and signed an eligible, qualified coach to take over from McGregor. Todd Greenberg is not to blame for the disgraceful state of our club.

Apart from his initial appointment comment, does anyone know if our new CEO has spoken anything football related news about the team OR was that his only comment for the year?
