Lock and second row is all the same thing these days.

Not many traditional locks anymore - Gallen maybe - cant think of many more - The position is not specialist anymore.

Lock is a 3rd prop now with slightly better D and less meterage. Gibbs is a perfect lock. Great defender and can make decent enough yardage up the middle.

Imagine if we bought Gordon. With the injury he just received, under our doctors he'd be a cripple with brain damage somehow.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::crazy:too funny

i could swear that our club doctor moonlights in my local asian takeaway

Cynics the lot of you:lol:

I think he will add a different dimension to the side and lead our young forwards.

I think thats the shame of it all, we don't really have a young pack anymore, with most of the starting 6 being +5 yr seasoned players, who just don't turn up every week & produce there "A" game.

If the rumours a right, then:
Fulton & Gibbs don't want to be here?
Payten is just too injured to give any more service?
Farah is playing injured & playing for his rep spots?
Ellis is homesick?
Heighington only does enough to keep his spot.
Galloway just gets injured too much.
Dwyer, Fifita, MM, Woods & the Schirnacks are keen, but lack the experience.

Hopefully Blair can turn it around for us, with some pride & attitude, that will rub off on the rest of them.

Let's be realistic, any talk of ideal signings can really only come down to three players:

1. Thurston - we get that genuine halfback to lead us around. Lui and Moltzen are FG standard players, just not sold either are halfbacks.
2. Slater - Blind Freddy can see we're lacking a FG standard fullback, let alone a top notch fullback.
3. Matt Scott - best prop in the world to add some real starch to our forwards. Probably more a luxury than anything, but Scott, KG, Ellis, BMM, Fifita, Woods, Groat, Shirnacks and whomever of Gibbs, Hino, Fulton stick around should be quality.

I can't argue with that.
