Who from the Army is making the road trip up to Newcastle on Sunday arvo? I'm doing a fly drive thing, coming to Sydney on Saturday and returning to Melbourne on the Tuesday. I'll probably buy tickets at the gate unless there's any organisation for a Sharks bayor something.

While I'm at it, a quick plug for wotif.com. Awesome hotel rates. This weekend anything in the Stamford chain is a bargain.

I was gonna go...but it seems a few regulars aren't making it, so I may have to reconsider.

I was there last year for THAT win, so I guess I should go.

We stayed at the Quest Apartments last year. Top place. Middle of town. AND you can get an apartment with about 5 beds in it! So extra people can crash there. It's all good.

Why don't you just fly to Newcastle though?

1. Sydney flights more frequent and cheaper. I also booked the tickets a few months back for cheap when we didn't know what day we'd be in Newcastle.

2. Other functions in Sydney to attend. All my family are there.

As for Quest Apartments, they're always very good. I've stayed at one in Victoria and it was tops.

cos i'm playing soccer and scoring wondergoals and newcastle is so far away and i will be missing soccer over the next few weeks for various reasons so my team wont be impressed if the best player in the team (me) misses too many games
