I have never considered Lockyer as the best player in the world cause of his defence. He is a liabaility in the defensive line and i just can't overlook this fact. Especially when compared with the likes of thurston who is a real asset in defense. Add on to this the fact that Thurston is a better attacking weapon and well to me theres no comparison.

Funny thing is back when Lockyer was a fullback he was basically the best defensive fullback around.

He still missed a sh*tload of tackles. I think his improved but i still think his a liability in defense. I can't credit a player as being best in the world due to their attacking prowess, when they are leaking tries for their own team.

Everyone always favours the halves. Sonny Bill Williams is as good a second rower as I've ever seen. I've seen about 10 better halfbacks then that creepy lil bastard John Boy Thurston.

So yeah SBW is the best player in the world right now, and will prove it in 2008.
