1st I'd like to give a wrap to the Dogs who played great for a team who supposed to be under pressure and Willie Tonga - didn't see any weakness in his defence and was exceptional in attack ahhhh I said he would come back and haunt us but some of the so called experts here said he was no good and can't tackle.

Well well well I predicted a smashing and we got a smashing and to all the Brian Smith Lovers on this page where are U now?? Alex, HJ anyone where are UUUU???? With the team that was chosen it had to happen. You call me everyname under the sun but ourcoach failed us yesterday and mor importantly our players who played without heart.

Burt- (or the much loved BURTY) I've said it before and I'll say it again, has one good game out of seven otherwise he is SOFT and chokes under the pressure just like his coach. Im really really really glad he is with us for another 2 YEARS  .

VELLA- SOFT SOFT SOFT   f**king soft can someone please get him the f**k out of this team and out of the Parra area!!!! And That missed tackle was just disgraceful. Please Brian sign him up for life  .

Wagon  - No comment what does he offer our team. Must be related to the coach....................hang on he is

Pearson- I thought he may inspire some of our softies such as Vella but he is just as bad.

Wise K :? - I said I'd reserve my Judgement on him but It only took me 20 mins of the 1st half to find out why he was at Souths last year, cant tackle, cant anything.

Peterson- I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as our really brainy coach decided to place him in the 3/4 when he is a winger. (remeber the prediction of Sonny Bill smashing Peterson)

Hopkins- Shite :?

Lyon- Was that really him yesterday he looked z grade.

Hindmarsh- Hate to say it but he did nothing yesterday.

Stapleton- Send him back to the saints please.

Exceptions:
Dykes- who did really well
Cayless
Cannings
Armitt
vaeleki
Grothe
Should be the only ones retaining there spots next week the rest can go to hell especially Wagon, Vella,Burt(who got the hook during the game),Wise K.

We have some Talented players in the 1st Div/ Jersey flegg the least we could do is look for a 5/8. Options are Tim Smith, Feleti Matteo as a creative lock, Brett delaney who is a 5/8, Chris Thorman who set a up few tries up on Friday night.

f**k that was disgraceful yesterday. I mean if u can't lift to match the your arch rivals then who are we going to lift up against this season. Last night our team made Rookies from the dogs look like legends.

I'm still here. Ok I admit changes are needed to the team and Smith is under pressure to come up with the right tactics and game plan. But honeslty last night's result was due to our defence and it wasn't Brian missing the tackles. Its not like he's out there telling them to miss tackles. We never had a good oppurtunity to use our game plan, because we kept losing the ball. However if this continues all the blame will be on Smith.

Your comments on indiviual player performances and failry accurate so I wont comment.

I will add that although most are not happy with him, those of you whiched boo'ed him when he was on screen should be ashamed of yoursleves. He may be struggling but to boo the man that has done so much for our club is apalling.

Oh Alex, you just seem to miss the point.
It will be everyones responsibility, not just Smiths.

You say he wasn't the one missing tackles and dropping balls.
He also wasn't the one who made sure they made tackles and didn't drop balls.

Everyone is responsible.

Thats exactly what i'm saying. Alot of people want to put the blame soley on Smith but I'm saying that the players have to take some of it as well.

I think to be fair, most of the people booing Smith were Doggies & Tigers supporters. At least where we were sitting anyway. All the Eels fans in our section were just sitting in stunned silence for most of the game. :(

i was really proud of Willie who stood up to be counted after recieving alot of criticism while he was here. I can't see his replacements doing any better then him. Hope he has a blinder of a season (cos we don't have to play the doggies again!!)

Why the hell do people think that the Coach has no effect on defence and mistakles? Firstly Smith Picked poor defenders in Petersen and Wise. Secondly who the hell runs the defencive drills at Parramatta? Do the players do it themselves? NO! Smith teaches them to work as a unit in defence, proper technique and stuff like up and in or slide defence. The way parra defended was the result of a improper offseason and poor team selections.

Yep, the buck stops with the coach. Always has and always will. Smith knows this and he knows the pressure's on (from the fans, not the board).

How many players have we blooded in the last 2 years??

- Armit
- Graham
- Tonga
- Tslsous
- Witt

I can't think of anyone else??.....so since 2001 we have only blooded around 5 or so players....an average of about 1.5 a year since 2001??......absolutely disgusting!!...considering in 99 we blooded junior after junior!!

Too right ron! I have seen the Bulldogs put 2 very young players in Tonga and Williams infront of experianced players like Hughes and Grimaldi. The Broncos today playing a rookie 17 year old called Karmichael Hunt infront of Motu Tony at FB.

Why doesnt Parra show the same faith with talent such as Witt who performed well in first grade last season then Smith puts him back in PL for Wagon at 5/8"???????????

Sonny Bill carved it up in the trials as did Karmichael Hunt. I'm not saying Witt isn't a good player and I think he should be brought back but he was hardly carving it up in the trials and apparently was average in Prems the other night.

Was he given much of a chance in the trails? Most of the time Wagon and Dykes where the halves. Ofcourse he didnt do well in PL because he is most likely disheartened by being dropped from first grade! Michael Witt did really well last season and too see him left out is a damn disgrace!

if its true and he played crap because he was dropped then he isn't the player i thought he was. Personally if i got dropped, I would want to make sure the coach regretted it instead of proving his point.

AlexTheEel, Witt may very well be in a bit of a slump right now but he seems to thrive on being thrown in the deep end. He certainly did last year. Put it this way, I can't see his inclusion in the side doing our chances any harm after this weekends efforts. Same goes for Thorman. Clearly the option of Wagon at 5/8th should not even be considered. He even looks like he hates playing in the position. He excels at lock, end of story. Having said that, our REAL problem is our defensive strategy and positioning as a TEAM. It's non-existant. If we don't fix this even Brad Fittler at 5/8th wouldn't help us!

yes Parraren but as you said 'after this weekends efforts'. If you read my earlier post I say I think Witt should be brought back this week, however I am just justifying why he was not included for the Rnd 1 game. Its easy to talk in hindsight isn't it.
