Why are there two different types of street lights

I mean like suburban streets have white lights yet roads, motorways and highways all have the orange lights

why not have all lights white or all light orange?

There can be a few reasons, if you actually are interested.
1. Orange uses less energy than white, so it could be for all this carbon bs.
2. Orange is better in foggy weather, apparently. Provides better visibility.

Apparently there is a worldwide shortage of orange colouring hence the lack of orange lights.
