Why don't the NRL start again?

I do think we need less teams so the superstars can be evenly spread around the NRL.

What I would do is as follows.

1. North Qld
2. Gold Coast
3. Brisbane
4. Newcastle
5. Northern (covering the nth beaches to the CC)
6. Illawarra/ Sothern syd
7. GWS (based between parramatta & penrith)
8. Sydney
9. ACT
10. VIC
11. NZ 1 (based in Auckland)
12. NZ 2 (based in Wellington)
13. SA
14. WA

Existing teams go back to their state cups

Oh dear... not this again. All we need now is another thread about how the NRL should be divided into conferences...

Sounds like a "super" idea. Maybe someone should start a "super" league with your idea as a template.

You can't just ignore the existing situation.

Just because something looks logical in theory, doesn't make it practical or anything like an actual good idea.

Christmas Island - An untapped goldmine of talent.....and on the cheap

Why stop at islands...

We could be the first professional sporting team to base a side on the ocean. We could call them The Pacific Ocean Pelicans and they could play their home games on a large specially built cruise ship that sails up and down the east coast of Australia.

You do realise that this kills all the rivalry and traditions of the current Sydney clubs don't you? I love nothing more than going to games against the Sharks, Dogs, Roosters etc because of the great atmosphere. And that great atmosphere is a result of hate and rivalry developed over generations. All your idea does is kill that and therefore kills the last 100 years.

Imagine Saints and Sharks fans supporting the same team. Dogs and Eels fans. No thanks. Keep it as it is.

Now that's not a bad idea

It's a great idea, but Sydney people are dumb.

So rather than give them this idea right away, it has to happen gradually over time, so that they barely notice.

You're the guy who called me a spastic two or three times, accusing me of miswording the popular phrase 'the pot calling the kettle black.' When it was finally pointed out that you were actually wrong, you dissapeared off the forums for two weeks.

Last person who can accuse a large group of people of being 'dumb.'

As for the original idea, been suggested before, wouldn't work properly. If ever there was a time to do it it would've been around the time Brisbane came into the comp, but it was simply Brisbane entering the Sydney comp, not a new national comp. Far too late now, and it's not like our game needs an A-League style revamp, just a few little kinks ironed out.
