Why Hayne shouldn't win the Dally M Medal

Thats why its amazing. Both Fittler and Lockyer are among the games greats, yet combined neither player has won the Dally M Medal. That in itself says enough about the medal imo.

No it says the Cowboys are a one man team. Thurston is a great player, if he does win the Dally M it's not because he's not great, he's just the only match winner in their side. If the Cowboys win, it's cause of Thurston. Hell, Brett Finch came runner up in the Dally M in '04 with Fitler outside him.

Now that I remember (regarding 2003).
Gower was just ahead with one round left and played a blinder against Parra. He would've got the three.

this forums just full of muppets. theres always someone who wants to knock someone, no matter who they are. pack of internet athletes

Oh, sorry. I thought the Dally M was for form this year.

(Somehow I got the impression you were talking about this year, because he did prove a lot this year in origin)

he's proven himself in origin games and finals series games, so it doesnt matter if he doesnt stand up in a nothing game tonight. does that make more sense for you? or are you really that stupid?

My point is that this highlights exactly how important the Eels pack has been in their hot-streak. It's not just all about the Hayne Magic.

Hayne dominates the ball as much or maybe more than a halfback.

When they win he gets all the credit (pretty much).

When they lose... What could he do?

Tonight also showed his defensive prowess, like other poor defenders in fullback he has no idea how to wrap up the ball.

But like other big name players like Lockyer defense doesn't count and when they have a bad game everyone just pretends it didn't happen.

I think you could say the same about any side. If your forwards suck, even the best play makers will struggle behind them.
