Public Holiday tomorrow and a long weekend for most, why isn't there a game tonight??? I'm sure it would be more popular than a Monday night game.....don't tell me it's because the Footy Show is more important????:sarcasm:

There's only six games this weekend so I suppose there is less days to spread them over.

Why isn't the ANZAC test on Tomorrow either??

It's ANZAC day, friday night, centenary year, long weekend, team of the centuary freshly named......It all adds up so perfectly.

You'd think the blokes in the offices at the ARL/NRL could plan this out better couldn't you. But no!

yeah, I don't really understand the byes this weekend... no rep sides have been picked yet, so no issues with that. If anything, it gives some players less chance to earn a jersey. Save them for once the sides are picked to help ease the rep burden

Pathetic planning but what do you expect.

They are not in it for the good of the game.

The ANZAC day game should be on FTA as well (like the AFL one is), but who are we to question them.

Because there is no ANZAC Day test this year, yet a Centenary Test Match in about 2 Friday's time. Crazy and probably could of been a combination of both, but I think they have got it right.

The ANZAC Test hasn't been played for a number of years... people need to realise that. It's the Bundaberg League Test and is played either in the last days of April or the first 2 weeks of May.

ANZAC Day is now St George Illawarra v Sydney Roosters.

Any games tonight would've been a massive PIA to get to given how Sydney and surrounds are bedlam, people getting away for long weekends, add the poor weather and it's just a bad idea.

The complaint from players and some fans late last year was player burnout. As a result it was announced that all teams would have two byes in season 2008 and beyond. They need to be fitted in and the bye rounds are already placed around tests/rep matches and so on, so this is just one additional week they've fitted in.

No Monday night football this week or next, but it's still on from Round 10 onwards.

Full draw times and such for those interested can be found in the Game Day Spoilers forum under the "2008 Draw" thread. Scheduling has now been announced as far ahead as Round 17 (4-7 July).

also why is the Dragons v Roosters not on free to air as well,

The Nrl is so far behind the AFL in scheduling it is beyond a joke

The ANZAC Day game has never been on Channel 9 from memory. Always been on FOX Sports since 2002 I thought...

Why? It's reaped massive crowds since it was first played back then, regardless of television broadcast.

Less games over a long weekend.

Yep, well done again NRL.

Why is it bad? Again, long weekend's are something that everyone goes nuts over in terms of hoping for more games etc., but they're also the first port of call in defending sh*t crowds. "People went away for the long weekend" is always the first defence used.
