Ok it's only a friendly but once again Salford aim up and come within 20 seconds of beating Wigan who were at full strength minus Barrett.

Karl Harrison continues to work wonders at Salford who were missing a few top liners but they have more depth especially in the forwards this year.

So far Wigan have had 2 tough trial games and they now focus on Warrington in the opening round of SL, what a great game that will be. I can't wait for that.

A lot hinging on Barrett's shoulders this year it seems. Will he be up to the weekly grind?

Would be a shame if Salford don't build on last year's performances. All the established sides will have to be on their game through this season, otherwise they risk doing a WIgan and slipping out of the six...

I wouldn't say it was aiming up really,Salford finished quite a way ahead of Wigan last year.

If anything,it was a good effort by Wigan to get so close surely?
