I thought their first half performance was outstanding and credit goes not only to the players but coach Michael Maquire.

They have raised the bar and it is now up to the other SL clubs to catch up or else they will fall a long way behind.

It's been a long time coming this resurngence of ours and as a proud Wigan Warriors fan, I have enjoyed every minute of it JasonE.

I read that their first half completion rate was something like 98%, i don't know how accurate that is but you couldn't ask for more in a Grand Final.

You could say that about every team that ever wins the GF. Wigan deserve all the accolades they are currently receiving but they're not head and shoulders above the rest of the league by the margin you're suggesting.

They played very similar to the Storm. Second man play once then twice, then they'd switch it up hitting the straight runner. Not any superstars to speak off. I saw a scrum move that is used by many teams in the Nrl where the lock would break left looking for the pass only for the halfback to drop it off to the centre cutting back in.
I first saw this with the Storm and then the Raiders and Roosters.
Anyway, they play very similar to an Nrl side.

There is a bit of the Storm in the way Wigan play, which stands to reason. They dominated the game from the first minute to the last and once the score got to 16-0 the game was as good as over.

Kudos to Saints though. To make the GF and then put up such a gallant fight with their first choice 7 and 6 in civilians was a tremendous effort. Not to mention Fozzard and Gardner.

To be fair, Saints had no chance without Pryce and Eastmond.

Still Wigan played great and should do well against the Dragons in the WCC.

We can only beat whats in front of us I guess.

I agree, we should do well against the Dragons on home soil (something I think should be alternated as I think our NRL teams are disadvantaged each year).

Meh, they were not so hot when we stuffed them at the DW not so long ago.

Congratulations to them, as league winners and all that. They are not head and shoulders above the rest though, there are a few teams chasing hard.

Saints will have support for Graham (assuming he has not cried of to Aus), Leeds cannot have as many injuries again, same for Saints.

The only standard they have set is how to mess around at every play of the ball.

Wigan Athletic football fans are some of the biggest morons you could wish to come across, thankfully there aren't many of them.
