If he does he will greatly boost the chances of Fiji taking fourth or even third spot.

Likely Fiji team with Hayne:

FB: Kevin Naiqama (Wests)

WG: Semi Radradra (Parramatta)/Akuile Uate (Manly), Suliasi Vunivalu (Melbourne)
CE: Waqa Blake (Penrith), Braydene Williame (Catalans)

FE: Jarryd Hayne (Gold Coast)
HB: Apisai Korisau (Manly)

LF: Jason Bukuya (Cronulla)
SR: Tariq Sims (St George-Illawarra), Korbin Sims (Brisbane), Jacob Saifiti (Newcastle)
PR: Ashton Sims (Warrington), Kane Evans (Sydney), Reagan Campell-Gillard (Penrith), Daniel Saifiti (Newcastle) Eloni Vunakece (Sydney)
HK: James Storer

Viliame Kikau has to be in the 17 for sure, maybe even starting and Tui Kamikamica I would have off the bench (yet to make his debut for Storm, but players player/ motm for Fiji for maybe both of his Bati tests)

Kikau has plenty of potential . A definite in the Fiji squad.

Fijians should be playing Tonga and PNG face cook islands... But that's a stacked fijian team...

Through their grandfather.
Their great uncle Arthur was the first Fijian to play for the All Blacks. Also has great great relatives George and Fred Jennings played rugby union for Fiji
As someone else pointed out, their cousin Leroy plays soccer for Jets reserves and Fiji.

On either code Fiji have always had class backlines and underperforming forwards. May be the first time their forward pack will outshine the backs.

John Sutton and Hayne is key if Fiji are any hope of upsetting any of the big three.

Sutton and Hayne in the halves and this year their forward pack should be much stronger with the emergence of many young fijians safiti brothers, kikau , Campbell Gillard to back up the established Bukaya , and Sims x 3. Throw vunaceke into the mix and you have one tough mobile forward pack.

Not that it means anything but he has been included in a provisional 40 man squad. Awesome to see they are doing battle of the bati again. Wish other heritage dominated nations would do something similar as well.

Forty big names submiited to FNRL

Forty big names have been submitted to the Fiji National Rugby League by Fiji Bati Coach Mick Potter to prepare for the Rugby League World Cup in Australia later in the year.

FNRL Chief Executive, TimociNaleba says one of the players that is expected to make his comeback into the Bati side is Jarryd Hayne.

“Hayne started his international test for the Bati at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup before he joined the Kangaroos at the 2013 World Cup in England. I’m sure this will give good competitions among our local players and they have to be super fit to be able to earn a position in the final team simply because they will be competition against the players that are currently playing at NRL level and this year we have the most numbers compared to the last world cup.”

Other payers that are expected to be called in are Suliasi Vunivalu, the Sims Brothers, Kane Evans, Jayson Bukuya and Eloni Vunakece.

The Fiji Bati final 25 squad will be selected after the Battle of the Bati on 30th September at ANZ Stadium.

Fiji is pooled with USA, Wales and Italy.
