Will Kyle Flanagan be a good #6 or #9 for the Dragons?

This may not be popular, but I think he will be very handy as a 14. He can cover many positions, and I thin he can play Hooker and lock.

At a pinch, he can play in the halves, he can also play at centre or fullback.

Hi Defence is quite good and I've seen him setup breaks. ALso, he has some energy which we sometimes don't have in our current team.

I don't see him as a starting halve though.
I think he will surprise as did Liddle .......

Ok let me try this positivity thing the last 4 grand finals have featured one or more father son combination.

Penrith Nathan & Ivan Clearly (2020-2023)
Brad & Jakob Arthur (2022)
Billy & Kevin Walters (2023)

....that's all I got lol merry Christmas to all!
And lets give an honourable mention to our favourite father and son combination from 2010 - Wayne & Darius!!

Well, we will see soon enough whether Shane Flannagan and his son Kyle are up to the task.

I also hope that coach Flannagan will put it all together and handle negotiations with players and their managers from now on. Get rid of 'jobs for the boys' Millward, Haran,, and Millard. Hire a professional to repair relationships with player managers. I believe this is where most of our problems with recruitment are.

Wasn't Millard performing the same role at the Dogs and picked up by the Dragons for 2024 after being discarded by the Dogs.
Will you never be happy? They appoint someone from outside for a change, someone who's not an old boy or who's father is not an ex-senior manager, someone who has experience working at other clubs, and someone who apparently Flanagan was happy working with. Surely that's a good thing? Give the bloke a chance.

Millard was in charge of pathways and from memory the Dogs did well in the juniors. I heard that he jumped that opportunity as it is close to home for him as he lives in Wollongong area.

Apparently Ryles also wanted him to be part of his coaching staff if he took the job.

Personally Browny would have been the best for that role.
FFS the love for Browney by some on here IMO is rose coloured glass stuff !! He butchered a Dragon side with so many SOO players it defied belief. The sad thing is he was still a better coach than Price, McMuppet & Hook !

You guys are in a bizarre situation.
Your number one halves pairing, Hunt and Flanju, are both playing in their second best positions, with both of them having their best position as being no.9.
9/7/6 : These days are pretty similar skills sets. It doesn’t hurt to have a number of players who can perform to a high standard in each of these positions.
