Will Mal Meaning be anti-NSW?

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread...

But, here goes...

It concerns me that Mal is making noises about 'a game for incumbents' [not an actual quote], and the media is talking up the need for combinations...

What does that mean?

Possibly an all-QLD backline...?

Possibly players like Gal left out, but others like Thaiday in...

Yes, I'm a one-eyed NSW supporter, but I'm not sure I trust Mal, especially given his at-times outrageous conspiracy theory outbursts over the years!

Of course Meninga will favour Queensland players. Why wouldn't he? They've been repeatedly successful under his tutelage. Just needs to season the team with a handful of the better Blues.

I agree with your summary. It's just that I don't agree with the practice.

When fit, I understand keeping players like Slater, Inglis, Thurston, Cronk, Matt Scott, and Cameron Smith in the team - absolutely! QLD have had a superstar team for a decade, and have brought through new talent in a remarkable and professional way.

It's the border-line (no pun intended) calls that get people's back up. For example, does Thaiday get the nod over say, Cordner...? Does Gillett get picked, and not Greg Bird? Does Jason Taumololo or Josh Papalii get the gig, and Gal gets dropped? Does Darius Boyd get preferred over someone like Dugan or Tedesco...?

That's my point.
