Will the NRL acknowledge the 125th anniversary of the birth of our game ?

The NRL was renamed but it is clearly the competition that began in 1908. And the comp that began in 1908 came from what happened in 1895.

History doesn't stop when circumstances change and people adapt. It is continuous.

The NRL began in 1998 after the ARL-Super League merger.

The NRL just make it up to suite themselves.

Rugby League celebrated 50 years in Australia by hosting the World Cup in 1957, the 75th year was in 1982.

And yet the Centenary which should have occured in 2007, was celebrated in 2008, why? Probably because they could get more money out of it in 08 then 07.......

They may have been doing the old seasons instead of years.

It's 1908.
And 2008 was correct

I’m not surprised there has been no attention. If, for arguments sake the BRL was formed in late 1907 but NSWRL clubs started to form in January 1908, the latter date would be celebrated by the NRL

Depends on your definition of rugby league

- 1873 play the ball invented with 4 tackles
- 1895 clubs breakaway but play RU
- 1906 13 aside game begins
- 1908 rugby league term born in Oz
- 1967 limited tackles
- 1996 English Super League born
- 1997 NRL born

Some may say rugby is still being played too in the north of England
Did they do away with contested scrums and extend the 5m rule to 10m in 1991?

125 years and you mob still haven't evolved a brain big enough to support AFL.

1/10, but I will play the game and respond.

Fumbleball has been around far longer and is still the most location-restricted football code on the planet.

Is that down to everyone bar a few weirdos down south knowing fumbleball is a shit game?
