will the Roosters' premiership triumph inspire other teams to develop rather than buy???

There are some teams out there that attempt to buy a premiership. For example, in recent seasons the Warriors have bought big names such as Tuivasa Sheck, Foran, Tohu Harris, Adam Blair and Isaac Luke, whilst Parramatta have spent big money to buy Mitchell Moses, Michael Jennings, Blake Ferguson, Tony Williams and Anthony Watmough. However, these attempts at buying a premiership have been failures.

On the other hand, the Roosters have developed a premiership winning juggernaut. We have developed Latrell Mitchell and Joey Manu from promising SG Ball juniors to international representatives. Dan Tupou was developed from nothing to a two time premiership winner. Our co-captains Boyd Cordner and Jake Friend have both come through the club's lower grade systems. others, like Aubusson, Napa, Radley and Matterson are similar stories. Waerea-Hargreaves came to the club after just six games for Manly, whilst Taukeiaho played just one game for another club. Keary and Fergo were discards that other clubs weren't willing to touch. And on top of this we have promising youngsters (Butcher, Collins, Ikuvalu) coming through the ranks.

Without a doubt the Sydney Roosters are a fine example of a club developing their own players into a premiership winning force. Will our success convince lesser clubs to abandon their attempts at buying a premiership and encourage them to develop their youngsters into winners instead?

Are there stats on how many nrl players made their debut with their current club?

Be interesting to see how the clubs rank.

Great post that speaks the truth. Well done.
Seems the rooters fans interpretation of "development" is that a players career starts the day they sign under the beach umbrella cap.
That makes Easts a club that develops players. Tadaa !!

I know that this is a troll thread, but it’s sorta true - the roosters do have an awesome coaching set up that allows for the young players that they buy from other clubs to develop to their potential in the best way possible.

OP, You forgot to mention Teddy and Gronk, would you have won the title without them?

at least the roosters stars are not made up of an over paid busted hack that doesn't put in more than 5 mins in a game and thinks drink driving is ok because he was coming from the "knock out comp" and a halfwit set of English brothers that get paid millions based on dropped ball quotas
