If we can get Thurston that will be awesome. I think we should offload Cayless. He will do good in retirement in UK or France probably. But Osborne is looking to buy Thurston that will be awesome. Thurston being a marque player, we can have a deal like Gasnier. I think we will be the team to watch in 2010.

I HATE SALARY CAP...

i pray we don't sign thurston, not only is he the most high profile player in the game, who will end up on overs whereever he goes......he is a grub. the only person who should be hopeful of him moving to parra is charmyn palavi.

i'd rather take a cronk at 250k anyday

Thurston for 500 - 700k lol, no way! Guys like Kimmorley, Orford, Cronk, Prince arn't anywhere near that kinda money!

With the pack and outside backs we have purchased and developed for 2010, i think Keating and Morts arn't going to have a problem steering this side around. With Hayne and Mateo chiming in on attacking raids, finshed off by the likes of Tahu, Reddy, Inu and Grothe! we dont need Thurston!

Kimmorley, Orford, Cronk and Prince aren't the Qld and Aust halfback.

That requires players leaving lol we seem to just be signing players. I hope some start leaving soon.

Lets be realistic about thurston, he can deliver a premiership. Should we go after him? YES. Now most will say mortimer and kk are out futre and yes i agree with that. But think about this, hindy has 3 years left. There is no way he isretiring without winning a premiership. We do all we can right now and over the next 3 years to win one. If that means signing thurston, then you do it.

Hold on. He's been at Nth Qld since 2005. Where is their premiership ?

they all aren't far off it, and most can be signed for nearly as much as half less.

Orford and Prince would be on serious dollars.

You seriously wouldn't go after Kimmorley as afuture option..

But yeah Cronk would be a cheaper option and he is in the top 5 for sure....for some reason I can't see him in Sydney. If he is not in Melbourne he plays for one of the Qld clubs.

yukyukyukyukyuk - Thurston is a diving, whinging, cheating butt head of a player.

And putting my personal feelings aside  - i just don't see how this would work.
Hindmarsh, Hayne, Mateo, Poore AND Thurston?? The NRL audit officers would have their eyes glued to us more then RJ whenever Hayne's onscreen.

Fair enough, and I'm not denying he's a good player by any means, but did you see him in Origin 3? He was woeful for someone who is supposed to be the best player in the world in some circles. His major problem is that when the pressure is on he tries to do everything himself and just gets more and more frustrated until he snaps. At that point anything can happen. I just think that for his reputation and the money he's been asking/offered from NQLD, he's just not worth it when we can build a star pack to run good halves off with that money. I'd rather not fall into the trap Newcastle did with Joey, and I fear that we could with a big money, big ego player like Thurston

Remember 1997 and 2001?

Id be happy to fall into that trap!
