I was wondering if any Balmain supporters can tellme how Willie Jones has been playing lately since his comeback? I've seen that he has been playing in the centres as well as the second row. Which position does he look stronger in considering his usual position is lock?

Cheers.

He gets carved up out in the centres but in the backrow he is going ok, only lasts about 40minutes a game - he really hasn't set the world on fire to be honest and Sheppo apperantly had a big go at him after last weeks loss and well thats not a good sign because the last 2 players who have had a hard word to Sheppo are no longer at the club and where sent home during the season ;-)

It sounds like he is half-arsing it  It's a shame as he does have the talent when he decides to show it. By the way was Todd Barrow one of those two players sacked?

Luke Thompson  He was meant to be a huge talent at one stage. Any chance of Alberts or Hunter getting the arse too? ;-)

Yeah Thomo was because of his work ethic since coming back from injury apperantly that was the main reason why it took him so long to be back and it was a shock when I heard it but he apperantly was getting home sick or something like that as well :(

Alberts I think is 50/50 the difference with him is that in attack the kid puts everything in but in defence he for some reason just falls asleep and he does this at training as well - they have had words but I can't see him getting sacked to be honest because he is a match winner for us at the moment.

Hunter no chance!

This is from the Daily Liberal which is one of the local Dubbo rags:

LUKE THOMPSON

The former Group 11 and Western Division second-rower had been playing with the Tigers this season in Jersey Flegg and First Division but when the season finished there, was snapped up by the Jets for the rest of the Group 11 season. He was one of their best players yesterday and scored an excellent try.

"Narromine is where I started my football and when I got the opportunity to come back home for the rest of the season, I jumped at the chance," he said.

"Unfortunately I've had a few injury problems with a torn hamstring and a knee injury this season but everything is okay now.

"But after a hard game today it's pretty obvious my match fitness isn't as good as it should be.

"It's unfortunate the season Narromine has had so I don't mind helping out before I go back down to the Tigers for off-season training in November."

Mind you this article is over a month old. Still unless the Tigers have changed their minds over the past month, he seems pretty sure that he'll be back there in November.

I would take him even if he isn't fit to be honest because he is a Mark Stimson clone!!!!

I was told he was sacked for lack of fitness and work ethic at training, so maybe their version was a conditional release - especially given that at the start of the year they signed him for a 3yr deal ;-)

Good to read that Thompson will be back. Must be considered one of our big forward prospects.

Going from what Mooney said he will be running on with the trailists or something along those lines and if Thommo proves his fitness he will continue as per his current wage/contract
