Rumours floating around that we may be targeting him.

I thought he was in pretty good form for the Cowboys this season, wouldn't be a terrible addition.

Thoughts???

None of the teams he has played for in 4 years have made the finals.

I'd rather save the money.

He wants $300k a season...NO.

He wasn't sh*t this year Mick, he was pretty good for the Cowboys in the games I watched.

But I kinda agree, $300K is too much, would rather have spent that on Peanuts

Don't care if he was good this year

He was in Nth Qld.

Not hard to stand out in that sh*t.

Plus no temptation there.

In Sydney there is ways he could be exposed to his usual wankerness.

No. no. no. no. We deserve better. and We can do better.

Prob the most suited to filling Pritchard's role out of what's left on the market. That said wouldn't pay more the $200k for him

Honestley I'd rather we not pick up any major signings for this season and hold off until there is a bit more out there next year.

Sure as hell don't want Mason.

I think he'd be a great signing. He has been pretty good for the Cowboys and while he's not as damaging as Frank Pritchard, he's atleast a consistent performer and would fit in well with the likes of House, Lewis and Petero.

I wouldn't be paying him $300k a season though. Atleast not outright. Maybe give him a $200k a season contract with $100k worth of incentives. Something along the lines of $20k if he plays 15+ games, $30k if he plays for NSW and $50k if he plays for Australia.

I'd take him for $200k but not 300k. If we sign him I'll still support my team. BigMick you sound like you're 5 years old, are you?

Hes been awesome for the Cowboys this season and is nearly back to his rep form if he isnt already there.

It took him a year and a bit to get over the knee reco, but now hes firing again.

Would be a huge asset to the Panthers.

LOL.

Good call...not.

I don't want him. He is the type of character I don't want on my team. I really hate the bloke..and that is just from my personal dealings with him...nothing else.

I'll take him at $200k...but not for what he wants.

His massive ego would be too much.

Yeah he would be good, good on match payments, that may give him the incentive to play consistent footy.

Nah save the money, find someone else...

We need an impact player in the back row. If Mason is the only one on the market then I say we offer 250 on a one or 2 season deal tops.

I would have him, he seems to be over the knee injury & has plenty to offer. He is about the only player available that goes close to covering Peanuts. I dont even care if he pisses on the wall from time to time. 200k with incentives sounds a fair deal.

I don't think it was the pissing on the wall that was the problem but the facts his 'nuts' were exposed.

Seriously, as it stands at the moment, we need something positive to happen on the recuitment front. The way players are leaving we are only going to have 18-19 top squad left.

Obvously, we will employ the usual recuitment which involves waiting until all other clubs have finalised there playing rosters for next season and we will then pounce and pick up the 'cream' of what's left over and unwanted by others.

Wouldn't mind him. I could never have seen myself saying that a year ago. God I hate the guy but this is the situation Leary has left us in. Agree, we pay him a base contract with incentives and he loses any incentives if he brings the club into disrepute in any way.

Mason @ 250-280k a season is better value than Pritchard @350-400k a season in my book. i would not be disappointed if we signed him. I'd also like to sign luke O'Donnell if we could snap him up at 250k. Surely the exit of Pritchard, Cooper, Graham, Paulo, Blair, Penese etc could free that cash up. I know you're an ex-copper Mick Leary, but did you do economics and maths at school? It's simple bloody arithmatics constable.

Luke O'Donnell, regardless of his ability, is a class A dirtbag. I'd rather support a club that didn't have him playing in it.
