THE Roosters have suspended their boom Australian Schoolboys star Willis Meehan following charges over an alleged assault at The Star Casino on Saturday night.

Meehan was at the casino on Saturday night when an incident occurred — which has been captured on CCTV footage.

Casino sources claim that in the footage it appears that Meehan headbutted a patron.

Earlier today, Roosters confirmed to the Daily Telegraph that Meehan had been down from all club duties, effective immediately.

They will release a statement regarding his future at the club later today.

The NRL Integrity Unit has been notified of the alleged incident.

Earlier this year, Roosters coach Trent Robinson named Meehan as a player he believed would burst into first grade at the club this year.

Meehan is also regarded as one of Australia’s best amateur heavyweight boxers.

He is the son of professional boxer Kali Meehan.

Been wondering where he's been. Absolute deadshit, surely he's ruined any chance of first grade this year with this.

Headbutt's not a good look and he deserves what he gets. Hope however, he turns it around like Friendy did at some point in the future.

Not just assault apparently.

YOUNG Roosters star Willis Meehan has been stood down over an alleged assault and robbery outside Sydney’s Star Casino.

Police say Willis, 19, was with a 26-year-old man walking along Union Street in Pyrmont at 2.30am on Sunday morning when they forced another man up against a wall, headbutted him and stole his watch.

The incident has been allegedly caught on CCTV cameras.

“Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command attended and arrested the two men,” a police statement said.

“They were taken to Newtown Police Station, where the 26-year-old man was charged with robbery in company and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

“He was granted conditional bail to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on 29 April 2015.

“The 19-year-old man has been charged with robbery in company and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

“He, too, has been conditionally bailed, and is due to appear in the same court on 6 May 2015.”

The watch owner was treated for superficial injuries to his face.

Meehan made his NRL debut in round 14 last year and the Roosters were hoping he would beef up the club’s pack even more in 2015.

The son of veteran Kiwi fighter Kali ‘Mean Hands’ Meehan, Willis’ is also regarded as one of Australia’s best best amateur heavyweight boxers.

He's one of Australia's best professional heavyweights - no longer an amateur. His old man won't be happy

Lets be fair - dont want to label his old man.

But Boxers / Fighters in general move in some shady circles.
Especially when you career is slowing up.

So either from his father circles or boxing in general he would of met some dodgy characters.

Meehan has been in and out of trouble for years - Roosters would of been fully aware of the circles he moved in.

Meehan might now stick with Boxing.

Reports say he got out of prison then turned up and played NYC on Sunday.

So it's not just a scrap after a few drinks, he's allegedly rolled someone for their watch. Disgraceful really, get rid of the deadshit if Mean_Maori's info is true. Club obviously has massive wraps on him as well.

apparently the other dude with him stole the watch and he may not have known this occured and maybe meehan just liverpool kissed him- dont know what started it so i suppose this will come out- dont know if he will remain on the books though after the may case if found guilty- obvioulsy his career in league isn't over if he wants to continue it - Danny Wicks was allowed to return.

he was certainly in the frame for first grade at 19 - big unit - 195 cms and 115 kgs.
