Rumour has it that we are in the running for Antonio WInterstein aswell as Brent Tate. Just wanted to know / see who is keen on this Antonio Winterstein bloke being signed ..havnt seen much of him but seems like he is a great finisher with a fair bit of speed. Dunno if he prefers to play wing or centre but we need a specialist winger, John Williams is fu**ing hopeless.

Yeah, it's rumoured that we are after Talanoa too and possibly Michael Gordon.

Ryan Williamson, Gerard Beale and Kalifa Fai-Fai Loa are also on the club's radar.

Winterstein would be great, he seems keen to stay in Brisbane though.

Fai-Fai Loa made his debut a couple of rounds ago for the Dragons.

He looks like a very talented player, hopefully they have access to some more footage of him from other games to get a better idea of his strengths and weaknesses.

Gee I hope not, Grothe is a muppet and only marginally better than Williams if at all.

We need a good young bloke with solid defensive credentials and preferably a couple dozen NRL games. Winterstein fits that bill for mine.

How about recruiting a new coach while your at it.. how is it that Neil Henry is under no pressure whatsoever? Cowboys have missed the finals 2 seasons in a row, and it's looking like 3 seasons now.

Signing Grothe would be true to form for the Cowboys. They rarely sign young backs. I struggle to believe Neil Henry would think signing Grothe would be a good option for them. Young pacey wingers would have a field day playing outside Thurston

every coach is under pressure of some sort. henry had nothign to do with our season in 08. your pretty much saying that because he has had one full year with us and we didnt make finals and we are in 14th after 12 rounds , 3 wins out of the top 8 that he should be overlooked for a new coach?...youve gotta be kidding

Neil Henry is under a lot of pressure from fans.

Who would we replace him with if he was sacked?

I think the management needs an overhaul before we will see the best from the Cowboys.

Winterstein would be a very good pick up. Positionally he is very good and has alot of pace. We do need to buy a couple of outside backs no doubt. Michael Gordan isnt an option i hope.

FMD, Gordon is a fast, young winger and is one of the best goalkickers in the comp. This cat has no idea about footy?

Gordon has a tendency to go missing in defence, which is our main trouble now. We do not need a goalkicker as long as we have Thurston, who is one of the best in the game. I think we could do worse, (at least Gordon can find the line and catch a ball) but there are certainly better options running around.

Gordons main asset is his goalkicking, which is NOT our problem. We need someone who is fast, with a safe pair of hands who can catch bombs and score tries.

If we jettison Bani, Williams, Ty (Graham's contract expires in 2012) we'll probably need another 3 wingers and a centre, with Graham for depth. Lack of depth in the outside backs has hurt us this season - we keep picking substandard wingers because there are no other options.

Winterstein would be good, any of the kids from the Titans or Raiders, Talanoa I suppose, though I'm not really sold on him yet. Michael Gordon would be an improvement, but not much of one considering his price tag.
