Just putting in my annual wish for a NRL and ESL Grand Final that'll see a Warriors vs Catalans WCC match..

Disclaimer: If Newcastle Knights are in the Grand Final, I can't wish for the above.. ;-) Other than that...

2008 got fairly close i remember thinking of the possibility back then. Even just Catalans or Warriors would be nice, a WCC in Perpignan (or a bigger venue close to it) or Aukland would be a nice change.

Would be interesting to see what would happen and who would promote the event seeing as we dont really have a real RLIF office or staff.

The French Federation dont have the greatest track record of promoting the game or 'events' (tests). I would love to head to the south of France for such a game, however it would probably be more financially viable to hold the game in NZ.

Where do the funds of any profit made from the WCC head? Are the TV rights sold independantly or 'given' away as part of the SL and NRL contracts, and who is the 'owner' of the event?

Im pretty certain the WCC is a thing that Sky pretty much does off its own bat, that the RFL support. The gate takings I think go to the club or the stadium, depending on the contract with the home club and the stadium. Its another reason why holding it in Australia probably wont happen for a long time. Could be very wrong how ever. That and the exchange rate.

A - Gate takings go to the event promoter, grounds are usually rented out by the promoter (there may be clauses for % of takings, or setups like ANZ). So why would that effect it being held in Australia?

B - The Australia dollar to pound sterling is at an all time high currently.

C - Anyone know the real answers?
