i think this is a great idea, in theory is a matter of where to fit it in, imagine the teams toulouse, canturbury, nsw, saracens just to name a few.
being a mainly league follower, has the idea ever been thrown, up i think it would be a success.

It has come up in the past and there was mention of Hong kong becoming the neutral ground but no time to play it .

There was a game between the S12 champions Auckland Blues and European champions Brive of France way back .
Auckland won .

It is a idea I have always wanted implemented:

top 3 English Premiership sides
highest 3 South African S14 sides
highest 3 New Zealand S14 sides
top 3 French 14 sides
highest 2 Australian S14 sides
top 2 Celtic League sides
Italian Super 10 winners
Japanese comp winners

A 18 team "champions league" type comp.

Trouble is when would you play it. NZ alone with its S24, NPC, International calendar doesnt have the room and I doubt they will interferr with that line up to commit players to another comp. (Though I would loved to have seen an Arg, PI or Jap team in the S14)

Of course it is only a dream, in reality it would be a logistics nightmare.

Are the S14 sides a fair match for the NH clubs? Aren't they representative or state sides? Wouldn't the NPC clubs be a fairer match with the NH clubs?
