I was just wondering, which Leagues would be ranked best in the world in terms of standard of play... I know most can agree on the top 2, but then it gets a bit difficult to place them...

1. NRL
2. Super League
3.
4.
5.
...........

Qld Cup? NSW Cup? French League? Championship (UK)? NZ League? PNG League? How do they stack up against one another?...

looks about right imo....but the nz & french should really be 3 & 4

I think that probably is about right, though the lack of coverage from #6-9 make it pretty hard to compare them. The French should definitely be striving to be at least in the top 5...

Swap QLDcup and NSWcup and you'd be about right I reckon.

Yeah "The National Championship" on NRL GF day. Really depends how many NRL affiliated players clubs get. Panthers NSW Cup are looking very strong for NSW Cup winner. Northern Pride (Cairns - NQ Cowboys) and Easts Tigers (Storm) are looking good for intrust super cup. Panthers may have an advantage in that cowboys currently have 2 qld cup affiliates (so more spread out) likewise storm with easts tigers and cronulla nsw cup.

How good in years to come if it worked out to be PNG Hunters vs Fiji? That's one for the Internationalists!

But it is a great concept and one that should have occurred years ago, I know Mark Murray has been pushing this for years.

fiji , papa , teams are great news , the state cup grand final should have been used a decade ago , makes you wonder who, why, the changes now , new nrl managers maybe ;-)
