It's just 'Warcraft', the IP had a long history before World of Warcraft existed.

Warcraft II was awesome and Duncan Jones is a good director, hopefully this does well.

Hopefully they run cologne and deodorant through the vents in the cinemas showing this, the basement dwelling neckbeards will be out in force for this one.

Should be good. I expect many of these movies.

I hope its more film than video game.

Never played Warcraft, but this trailer has me excited.

Also noticed the dude from Vikings is in it.
Vikings is a mint show - sidenote - Working my way through the third season at the moment

A rather stereotypical view of the game's player base. It covers a huge variety of demographics - I know women who play (a decent number of them attractive), construction workers, professional actors, musos, body builders, teachers, and everything in between.

Saw it last night and it was very good.

The CGI was great except for the Elven ears and the Dwarven heads. Story line was good and it had a good balance between following game lore and being a movie a non-gamer would understand and enjoy.

I liked the emphasis on Karazhan as it was one of my favourite instances within the game when playing and seeing how it came to be destroyed and some of those bosses came into being was fun.

I loved the Murlock cameo and I can sympothise with Moroes and understand why he's such a bastard now, he's just a worker who got the life sucked out of him by his boss. Sound familiar?

All in all I thought it was great and can’t wait for the sequel.

Chook.

I quite enjoyed it as well. The CGI, especially on the Orcs and landscapes, was terrific.

Plot and writing were a bit weak, but being familiar with the source material (an RTS from 1994), I'm not entirely surprised.

It's bombed in the US, but made so much here in China that a sequel is practically guaranteed.

US audiences and reviewers are terrible.

It's about time that another domestic market emerged with enough clout so franchises like this aren't dragged down by the dumbest cinema audiences ever.

From what I've read of reviews, there was a lot of barely repressed anger and outright loathing that anybody would dare adapt another video game. Some went in with anger and came out even angrier.

It's not Shakespeare. It's not even a good Marvel movie.

But it's hardly as terrible as they're making out. It's got hackneyed dialogue and the plot is what you'd expect from something based on a video game that essentially had no plot (unlike the later games or the MMORPG), but it's not painful to watch like some have indicated.
