Seeing as the opposite of this equation has been explored - I'm interested in people's views as to the worst player the Wests Tigers have purchased (not a player from their lower grades)!

These are a few worth considering:

Alf Duncan
Owen Craigie
Dane Morgan
Lee Murphy
Trent Runciman
Hassan Saleh
Matt Nightingale
Nathan Murphy
Ben Reynolds

Reynolds

methinks someone has decided he's seen enough eh?

Hill. for pure lack of value it had to be Tezza.

You are kidding yourself about Pearson, he is better than Skando by a country mile. NBQ wasn't as bad, he just wasn't that good! He certainly was nowhere nears as bad as:
Lee Murphy (Western Suburbs favourite son), Kevin McGuinness, Ben Jefferies, Saleh or
Skandalis.

Eddie - as I stated it was players brought to the JV - not those that came fron the two feeder clubs!

As such Kaufusi - NBQ - Caine - Doyle - Nable - Lauder (or even Ken McG - Jason Hudson and Brenton Pomery) do not count!!!!

I'm with you yappy!!!

????????

How a former Dragons reject is tarred with the Magpies brush is beyond my apparently limited comprehension!!

But the minute you link that useless pr*ck to Balmain (and not his sponsor Baa Baa Lamb) I will really get pised off!

You run a tough school Yappy. 2 first grade games for Reynolds and already he is on the scrapheap? Of course everyone else in those 2 games were error free. :? Why don't you give the bloke a chance to settle in a bit ?

Given that reynolds has been around for a fair amount of time at Penrith I think most people formed their opinions long ago. I have never seen why people rate him. He simply does not have an all round game. And the skills he does have are nowhere close to brilliant

Lee Murphy and Trent Runciman are my picks for both categories as they are kind of go hand in hand... my hands were spent often in front of my eyes after seeing these two players display their immense mediocrity for the black, white and gold... #-o

Terry Hill gave us a good ten games for how many million dollars??? :?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I don't think his time at the Panthers has anything to do with what is going on here. He had 2 games, 1 with Elford and Wilson as centres, 1 with Marshall, probably wilson again, i can't remember. Both games he had a forward pack that was pretty well rolled, and it's no coincidence both him and Prince didn't have their best games in either. I know it's a different sport, but the Australian cricket side used to suffer when guys were chopped and changed and everything hung on 1 or 2 performances, it's amazing the way players have kicked on knowing they are not on the chopping block with a failure. We have a terminal problem at the moment, it's a lack of forward power and it's affecting everyone else in our side. If Benji had od been 5/8 in the games against Broncos and Saints the results wouldn't be any different. Has anyone seen Johns have a blinder behind a forward pack that has been hammered? Of course not, because at every level he plays behind a compitant pack that leaves his destiny in his own hands. I hope ben Reynolds gets more opportunities, where he is not under the impression of a slip up he will be gone, then i think you will see a player develop into something strong and good for our club.

I'm not rating Reynolds one way or the other. Merely commenting that Snide has formed a very firm opinion very early on. I haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to make a judgement.

Tugger you have out done your self again, yes Lee Murphy is a useless player but he has nothing to do with the Maggies,I think he was playing for Balmain wasn't he.
Go back to the Balmain site you prong.

Yeah Murphy was both kinds of Tiger, but never ever ever has he disgraced a Magpie jersey.

What next? Noah trying to pin Obst on us?

Skando has him covered everywhere, including hair.

I wonder if Brian Smith would swap his Premier League star prop for Skando?

And Buddah?

As compared to whom? Craig Field?

Back to the subject, Terry Hill on a dollar basis by the length of Conrod Straight but for straight out uselessness for a bloke who could play, Owen Craigie.

From what i remember, Craigie was pocketing a cool 300K a season at WT to play reserve grade part time and be inept in first grade the rest of the time. Whilst Tezza was being paid 400K a season to watch most games from the sideline, i do think that he did have a positive effect when he did play. It is for this reason that i think Craigie just gets the money as the worst buy.....

Another honourable mention goes to Michael Beuttner, who has done nothing since being at the club....

Best Loss = Owen Craigie, Terry Hill, Craig Field, Willie Manu......

It was actually $350 a season

Its a VERY close call between fatso and Tezza - I'd probably go with tezza simply because we were stuck with him longer but both were terribly buys
