I was once involved in a 3 man tackle where essentially we’d stopped the lads momentum, picked him up and dumped him, with all 3 of us landing driving him (legally) into the ground. As we landed he gave out the worst scream I’ve ever heard, it was obvious something bad had happened. When we peeled off him, his leg had come out of his hip, and was basically sticking out of his skin at his side, just underneath where his rib cage was. I think it classed as a dislocated hip - we did all sorts of charity events for him as he was goosed long term.
Tough sport, with real risk.
