Worst reffing decision ever???

Casting aside all the fall out from our tragic ball-handling performance yesterday, I believe we saw perhaps the worst call by a ref and/or touchies this year. Maybe for many years.

Everyone knows which one it was - Elford leaps in the air on a pass with his arms stretched out horinzontally. The ball hits him on the ankle just above the boot. He dives on it, gets tackled. Stewart tackles him as he gets up to play it, ball comes loose.

SUPPOSED TO: Penalty to Tigers for second tackle.
ACTUAL: Steve Farkin Clarke calls it back for an initial knock-on.

Unbelievable call from whomever of the 3 idiot officials made it. Laurie Daley on Fox was going bananas.

Can we get just a little ref professionalism please? I'm sick of the Tigers being on the arse end of refereeing luck.

Just in front of the no-knock on call against Pritchard in the Penrith game. Same ref mind you. Seems you can knock it down with your hand but not your leg according to him. He is a disgrace.

I rang the BSB today on this very topic and although the decision didn't cost us the wouldn't have changed the result, I'm sick and tired of these blantant calls going against us. :x

but he knocked it on in the tackle anyway :?

i can understand where you are coming from - when the chips are down these kind of decisions continually go against you. Manly has had them for a while, yesterday was the first time in a long time we have had a bit of luck 8)

No he didn't. He went to ground and Stewart dived on him. As he got to his feet Stewart had another go at tackling him and the ball came loose then.

The tackle had already been affected when Stewart flopped on him.

I don't blame the confusion tho, Elford did drop almost every other contested ball afterwards.

Seriously, how could someone make that decision? Even if they were blind they probably could have been able to tell it came off his leg by the sound of it or whatever. That touchie could not have been in a better position too.... Worst. Call. Ever.
