On Friday Beau Scott was penalised (and a try resulted to the opposition in the next set) when he didn't play the ball after the ref determined he was tackled. Michael Crocker was tackled in a similar manner, played the ball and was penalised. Talk about 2 bob each way (or 20c). If the try hadn't ensued would the hoohaa have eventuated ? Nobody seems to query issues that occur during the play. I also find the so-called shepherd penalty on Weyman (as well as the one immediately prior to that) difficult to understand.
So over to you out there for an explanation please.

The thing is, we have two different referees with two very different perspective. Last friday nights game was played under tony archer and ashley/calvin Kline. One of them is a top referee, who manages to get an origin spot and grand final (at least last year) and the other is some english androtop, who has converted from superleague. The perspective regarding some rules differ strongly between the nrl and superleague, meaning that something Archer would pick up automatically will go under the radar with Kline, and vice versa.
On the whole the system is a good one, but it lacks consistency

all i can say is that no two people are the same refs interpretate things differently and we have to deal with it. if you wanna do something about go become a ref and see how you like it. bulldog supporters stop crying like a little female dog and grow some balls. and just to show you the refs were consistent, the dogs got awarded a penalty from an obstruction when weymen ran behind a player yet there was no player within 5m of him.

it's all down to interpretation.

different referees will have different interpretation of the rules..

its all part of the fun of the human element.

i rue the day that we have hawkeye & video refs controlling the whole game..

We need them for them to confer

The way it's going and the NEED for consistancy is
Turn the league into a NFL style penality system
where they lay a flag down and sort it out between the refs
AFTER the play is stopped

I now DO NOT like this two ref system.
all these new refs are bring the game down.
Maybe the league should of taken another year to get these guys up to speed
then introduce them and us to the two ref system.

what we've got is due to the ARROGANCE of the NRL
They've brought this on themselves.
and we've the ones who's paying
