Writing out of boredom

Well today i talked to roostergirl and yes she can now confirm that i do say fush and chups, i never really realised but as a kiwi i'm proud. Who know, maybe thats the way its ment to be pronounced and the Australians are the one in the wrong. That could be true or maybe us Kiwis have a warped accent, but it can't be as bad as the Aussie twang! Well i just thought i'd start off on that note knowing tigger and co would stay interested

.

Next. The Warriors. Now alot of people know already that i have a major soft spot for them. These guys are the hopes and dreams of NZ league. You can just feel the emotion of this country simmering, and boy will really boil if the Warriors can make that 8. My heart is in the balance, last night i watched the Draogns game torn between 2 sides, wanting the Dragons to win for the Broncos sake and wanting the Knights to win for the Warriors sake, well the Broncos won the battle there.
Today they take on the Roosters and amongst all the media attention i can see a let down brewing. The media have only just caught on to what a great side the Warriors have become and all the publicity they are getting doesn't look good for their hopes. No longer are they running along with no pressure, now they have the hopes of a nation resting on them and thats a lot of weight to carry. My fingers are crossed that they can beat the Roosters today. Just a quick note on the weather, its currently raining in Auckland but i don't see it as a major disadvantage to either side.

Thirdly. The Broncos. 4 in a row just about says it all. Everything they touch is turning to custard. I'm preying (and i'm no religous man by any stretch of the imagination) that they can beat the Sharks. Priddis is out and Walters season is over. Peachey and Dykes are back for the Sharks and suddenly the scales are uneven as the Broncos look weakened. Weakened is the story of our season but there are no excuses, the team on paper is still capable of beating anyone. I'd just like to thank King Wally for his total confidence in our chances in the latest league week (sarcasm). Tallis is a huge loss but please don't use him as a scape goat, its time for the young guns to stand up and be counted and i believe this weekend is the time. Its make or break and i'm preying the Broncos can make something out of this.

Next. The premiership. I know everyone right now is buzzing at what a close comp we have and what a finals series it will be but are we all deluding ourselves and only looking at positions 2 to 14? Have we just happened to have forgotten about the Eels. As i see it their name has already been ingraved on that NRL trophy. Its all well having a close comp but it sort of lacks appeal when you have a run away steam train and everyone else is competing for second place. Lets look at the challengers, we have a knights team that ifa certain player isn't their they might as well pick up that wooden spoon and run. The Bulldogs just don't have that right look, i can't quite put my finger on it but something really takes away any of my confidence in them. We have a Sharks side that come finals time can't win their way out of a paper bag, then we go to a Broncos side that is just going from bad to worse. Next stop, the Roosters, 1975 is all i'll say there. The Dragons and the Warriors have the ability to sneak up on the leaders and get a few good jabs in but at the end of the day aren't going to be there on the last day of the season. Its a one horse race and critise me all you like but the writing is on the wall.

Next. Formula One. Michael Schumacher can seal his championship tomorrow night. Qualifying comenses tonight and it'll be the most important part of the weekend with a Hungarian circuit that is near impossible to pass on. The Ferrari has shown how good it is on a circuit like Hungary and should do well, BMWs shear power won't mean too much on a circuit that doesn't really have a straight and McLaren need to get over mechanical woes to compete. Am i being hopeful or will i be found out to be full of crap. Hopefully the former.

Lastly. I'm bored. Yes in case you thought the heading was just a lie its not. I've got nothing to do and i'm just lying on my arse stearing at the ceiling, oh its a hard life for young bronco. So most of the above is just boring conversation from a bored soul.

Cheers

well bronco, you sure bored the crap out of me with that motor racing bit,the way i see it, who ever has the fastest car wins, the championship is decided by the mechanics not the drivers,i'd like to remove the sport from motor sport,to me it's not worthy of the name.

as for the league section, parra may be on fire but with the pressure of finals footy they may come to grief, let's hope so anyway.

does it ever stop raining in auckland, why don't they relocate the warriors to a city which is not pissed upon every match day,any suggestions?

lastly we are all hurting for the broncos plight this season, could'nt happen to a more loved team!!!

cheers pepe

Bronco - you're a young man on a Saturday afternoon! If Ididn't have to beherewaiting for visitors,I'd be jumping over the backyard fenceand onto the golf course.I hope you haven'tfallen into the same trap so many Kiwi malesdoby becomingfull-timecouch potato - you'refar too young for that! Yes, there's a lot of great sport on tellymost weekends, but we have to fight theurgefor our own life's sake.

From what I've found,I enjoy following sport so much more when I use itto inspiremy own humble efforts, rather than justthe entertaining escapismother people use things likeShortland Streetfor.I tell you, my punchy5 iron intothe 9th greenlast night hadvintageNick Pricewritten all over it!And even if Grant Waite and the Warriorsbothdud out on me on the same day, at least a good thrashing of my brother at tennis tomorrow will lift my spirits and help put things in perspective.

By the way, I have the very same feeling that you seem to about tonight. Throughout our sporting history, most Kiwisseem to beat their best when theycome from nowhereor have their backs to the wall. There's something about all the smiles, confidence and attentionthat makes me feel very nervous about this game. I'mpicturinga shaky, error ridden performanceand a 20 point loss.GodIhope I'm wrong.

Yes pepe you like many others hold that uneducated view on formula one and motor racing in general. Who has the fastest car wins? Doubt it. BMW have the fastest car and they've only won2 races this season. McLaren have the next fastest car and they couldn't win their way out of a paper bag. Ferrari have the third fastest car yet their cleaning up the competition. Why i hear you ask, because they have an awesome driver. Many people like to believe that its just the fastest car. You have to realise that Michael Schumacher is one of the worlds greatest athletes, to drive one formula one race is like running two marathons, he'd bein better condition than any rugby league player ever. He is the worlds best driver and deserves to be called a sportsman in his own right.

I think the finals pressure crap about parramatta is just to console the masses who would rather be blind than see the truth that Parramatta will win this years comp by a country mile.

Aucklands weather is the pits. God has a great sense of humor always raining on Auckland!

I'm glad to know i have your support with the Broncos

Kipper, there aint no sport on the telly at the moment, god i wish there was, thats certainly not my problem! All my mates are doing stuff, i have no form of transport and nothing to do! Please help me lol!

Yeah i'm pretty much a couch potatoe but as Pepe and Hass will know i'm big on golf. I should've taken your advice and joined my grandads playing four at manor park today. Nick Price eh? Just looking like some sort of golfer would do me fine, i'm playing off about a 30 handicap but my golf has been shocking lately. Still you can't deny me of my driving proess. Put that 3 wood into my hand and i'll take the cover off the ball. Drivers are for amateurs, the 3 wood has so much more accuracy and control and does the job brilliantly, if i can sort out my short game i may be a good golfer some day.

Cheers

Congratulations to Michael Schumacher for his 9th Pole Position this year, and 41st in his career,in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prixwhich commences tomorrow.
Aryton Senna holds the record for the most number of pole positions with an 65 (?).
Schumachermade mention of a Ferrari than was running perfect during practice, for the incredibley quick qualifying time, and was certain the cars performance would carry onto race day.
He is only 24hrs away from taking out his 4th World Championship and another for Ferrari in the Constructors Division.
Good luck toSchu-ee and Ferrari on race day.

Thanks for posting that Jackal.
What a race its going to be, Schumacher on pole trying to win his 4th title and the man trying to stop him Coulthard with him on the front row.
I can't see Coulthard stoping Schumacher unless he takes advantage of Michaels poor starting. If David heads into that first corner behind Schumacher he will find it hard to get past him. Hungary is a tight twisting circuit similar to monaco where passing is virtually impossible. We know how Ferrari handles circuits like Hungary and Monaco better than any other car.
Also correct me if i'm wrong but if the top 3 finish in that order Ferrari will also seal the constructors championship, another great feat.

Cheers

I just watched clips of the qualifying on Fox and Schumacher was awesome.
He only went out for two qualifying session runsthen the normal four allowed, because his lap time was so good. Infact,Im surehe posted the winning pole position time on his first effort.
David Coulthard was also impressive, but had trouble staying on the race track for most part, but when he did looked threatening.
Mika Hakkeninwas terrible. He was all over the park and track. On a number of turns and straights, he almost lost control of the car and was lucky to get the starting grid that he ended up with. His car also didn't look very reliable at all. To his credit though, he was held up on his second attempt by another driver (I don't remember who)and was sitting on pole up until then with the best lap time.
Rubins Barichello was also very impressive, and for most part played it hard but safe, and therebywas rewarded with his grid position.
Ralph Scumacher also looked carm and comfortable, in which looked to be a very reliable car on the day.
I think Schumachers Ferrari will prove too bequick and reliable on the day, and unless Schumacher is overly anxious to win this race, it will be another championship to himself and his crew. Judging by how reliable the Ferrari looked during the qualifying, it doesn't look as if the car will give him problems tonight, which by the way he made mention of in his interview after the session.
It should be a great race, and good luck to all drivers and constructors.
