I don't think anything will beat RTW. Miss Finland is the only danger and it has to beat history aswell as the best horse in Australia.

It's a shame Casual Pass didn't get drawn better as I think it was a chance.

Forget El Segundo, it's all Victorian hype.

No way mate - he's the best horse in the land. Whether he is at his best atm is a query but on top form he'll blow RTW away over 2040m.

Miss Finland wont win as much as I am a fan. 3yo's need to be fraeks like Octagonal - and he was a colt. Too big an ask for a filly.

LOTM is the smokey - great value and may be carrying mine

Bently Biscuit clearly didn't handle Caulfield either. Once he straightened up he made some ground. Will be much better suited at Flemington.

Bentley Biscuit being spruiked as a possible Cox Plate contender by Gai weeks ago was the dumbest and funniest thing in Australian racing history!

She is so full of it sometimes

Hayes tag team beat El Segundo - Miss Finland checked him about 1/2 way thru the race and cost him victory.

Not just hype (unlike RTW) Macca - he's a super horse

Farkin Fleas of Omah knocks me out again, had a good result on flash trick though, the melb carnival is always good for snagging a good horse at a good price.

well what a race!

FOO really must look at the calendar and see what day it is

ES was a good run

Ruler was outstanding, as was Aqua

RTW was not helped in the early stages by a massively shocking ride, but the horse should still have given more. reports now that RTW may be out for the Autumn with injury. the trainer is also actually worried about having to retire the horse. may explain the bad performance

but what a run by FOO. people will criticise the standard of the race if a 9yo can win it, but FOO is a warhorse.

Thought the filly was a good run with a poor ride. For mine settled to far back from barrier 4 and left making her move till too late. Then when she did, she found the back of a number of other runners.

Miss Finand and Pompeii Ruler will be stars next year.

I guess it remains to be seen if he (RTW) can run a strong 2000m. I wouldn't be saying he can't on the back of his run Saturday. By Bossys standards it was a poor ride. He had to race wide most of the trip and then he pulled up lame. So not conconclusive as to how he handled the journey. The Valley has also been a graveyard for some horses in the past, some simply don't handle the track. So to many ifs there for RTW to be written off over 2000m.

Not sure the best horse won the race but the best jockey did.

Simply followed the best horse in the race all the way to the line!

C. Williams take a bow!!

All 12 horses got a mention in the stewards report.
A few got more than one mention.
Might be best to forget the race from a long term point of view.
Dont know if you put that down to the rides or the track.
Miss Finland got 3 or 4 mentions.
Great ride by C.Williams but K.Fallon on Aqua D'amore was just as good.
He carried that horse for 2000m and then she copped a slight knock in the last 40m.Didnt make any difference to where she finished but would of been a little bit closer.
Strange the time was a second and a half slower than what Rogersons horse ran earlier in the day yet the swoopers got home.
Its a real horses for courses track.
Heard Hayes on Racing Retro talking about one of his horses that ran in another race.
Said it didnt handle the Valley(for the second time) and it probably wont be going back there.
Check the form of most of Saturdays winners(not counting 2yos for obvious reasons)but the majority were previous winners at the track.
Dont think its a coincidence.
