He has been brilliant this season. Teams have been left in a spin as just when they think they can get some relief when Senter walks off for a rest, Mears comes on and blitzes them.

He has been the main reason as to our good form in recent weeks. (With Daz ofcourse).

Robbie FARRAH should be given a go next year, but he should be alongside Mears who must beour No.1 rake for 2005. He must be resigned immediately.

Gus GOULD has his eye on Mears if the Roosters dont pick up Firman.
Lets not lose another one.

It seems that Tim Sheens like to play 2 hookers, and Mears is a solid player so I guess it kind of depends on what Darren Senter decides to do next year. Farah must get an opportunity next year otherwise we will lose him. So either Mears or Senter will go at the end of the year, I'm tipping Darren.

I don't think a Mears and Farah combination would work nearly as well as Mears and Dazza is.

The reason its working atm is because Dazza is on the field for the tough stuff at the start of the game and then mears (who is a better runner of the ball) can blitz tired forwards.

The two robbies though are very similar style of players, I couldn't see a great benefit from interchanging them

I have said this a few times this year, he really has only shown any promise whilst darting out of dummy half, but really his defence can't hold up to the work load of a Hooker so I have a feeling he could be at another club after 2005.

I agree that Mears must be re-signed, with this mobile pack of our's going foreward, he is having a field day everytime he comes off the bench, he just slice's the opposition to bits around the ruck. another year would definitely see him out. I'd hate for Mears to end up at another club and do a 'Withers' on us.

Completely agree... get rid of senter.. however i just hope Farrah has the confidence to be ur main starting hooker.... like he is a good servicing half at the moment when he has played... but he i dont think he's started a game yet...

but mears should be our first priority to resign after skando- just been cutting up the opposition around the ruck.....

P:S - Gobbs - do you really think letting Withers go has haunted us that bad? I dont think he would be doing any better than any of our hookers or halves this year if he was in our side.

I don`t think any of the players we let go at the end of last year would have made this years 17 on current form barring maybe Trent Clayton.I reckon he still could have been an extra attacking weapon playing on the wing,but roaming infield and running into holes at speed,like he did on several occasions late last year once given a chance!

Don't worry about Bronson he has apperantly already agreed to a new 1yr deal

Skando won't leave either but he has to be resigned before june 30!!!

We can afford to wait and see who we sign before we resign Mears, Moodie and Senter as all 3 have said numerous times that they will wait and see how they feel at the end of the year and take things from there - All 3 I think on current form would be resigned for 1yr but it will come down to more the players than the club in keeping them on the field for us!

I don't think confidence is an issue when it comes to Robbie Farah

AJ to let a player like Withers go, with his fearless attitude in defense, and now being transformed into a very handy dummi-half/hooker, i think it was a silly decision to let a 23 year old go, and keep a 31 year old. I understand the decision to keep Senter was an emotional move to ensure he reached his 10 year service with the Tigers (Balmain and now Wests), and the club had my full support, but i still would have tried to retain Withers, because he is proving to be one of the Dragons best week in week out. But Having Senter, Mears and Farah, there was no real optuion but to let Withers go. Don't get me wrong, Senter has been one of Wests best so far through Season 2004 and will continue to be...

A Mears and Fitzhenry combo would be the way to go for the future. I will change my opinion on the Farah hype when he proves it.

Keeping Withers over Senter is a very fair argument. However , on the getting rid of Withers argument, I dont think its hurt us that much. We really do not need him with Farah, Mears, Senter, Galea & Fitzhenry.

Withers has been going great but I fail to believe we really need him and that he would be helping us more than any of our other hookers.

Though your argument on Withers over Senters a valid one, but I think its obvious it was really a reward for loyalty. But hey - Senters done well for us this year. No regrets about keeping him.
