Like: mum's Christmas pudding, going for a walk around my estate and looking at all the houses done up with lights, bbq breakfast in my court with al the neighbours on Christmas morning.

Hate: working retail, receiving gifts.

Typical Christmas day : breakfast with the neighbours, dads home cooked ham for lunch and big Christmas dinner with like 4 different meats with both sides of my family. Walk after the main to visit the lights and chrissy pudding, custard and brandy butter.

Typical Christmas is go out Christmas Eve and get wasted then regret it on Christmas Day because I'm extremely hungover.

Christmas Day we always go to my grandmother's and have roast pork or lamb..usually one of my aunts/uncle and their family take it in turns coming every year (they all live interstate). Good feed, catchup with the family, couple beers then come home and sleep it off.

Another positive is that most mates are holidays around this time of year so we all get to hang out again

Love this time of year!

Like : The food, the company, the general vibe I suppose.

Dislike : My late mother's bday is xmas so it now always includes a trip to the cemetery, my family are general nutcases so the part with my relos is usually annoying.

Typical day : Early rise to get to the cemetaery before it is packed out. Back to one of the siblings places for breakfast, presents and then a early lunch. Come about 2pm I've paid my penance and head off to the wife's family xmas which is where all the chilling out, pigging out and getting drunk happens

Don't get people who hate xmas. Its always great providing you buy into it

Like: The look on the kids faces when they comes out and see the presents. The lack of traffic over the 2 weeks in sydney while i'm at work.

Hate: All the PC crap that has occured lately, like schools not celebrating Xmas so as to not offend muslims. f**k off.

Typical Xmas Day: Open presents, Bacon and Eggs on the BBQ for Breakfast. Then off to either the wifes mothers house (5 mins down the road), her uncles house (Engadine) or her grand mothers house (Heathcote).

Then after that we meet up with my side of the family for dinner.

Then Boxing day we do the Father in laws side of the family so either down the road, Kings Langley or Glenbrook.

Like the mornings, happy faces, no work for once, no thinking about work, no thinking about anything else. Feel so relaxed.

Hate drunk relatives

Always have lunch with my mother's side of the family, dinner with my father's side.

The last 4 years I generally have gone to my local pub and got absolutely f**keyed on X-mas eve and have always thrown up on X-mas day after I've eaten. I only get physically sick off too much booze on X-mas day and no other time of the year so naturally I hate that.

Like not having to spend X-mas with anyone. Generally stay home and drink more beer, ring my parents and go to bed. They are coming down this year and my friends from Ukraine, who I've never met in person, will be here too and they will have X-mas with my family which I cannot wait for!

Like: Spending time with the family

Hate: Packed shopping mall crowds and not being able to grab a quick lunch in the food court when all the shoppers come to town

Typical Day: Every year is identical for us.
Xmas Eve is dinner at a local restaurant with the immediate family.
Xmas Day begins with a champagne breakfast (always croissants, no idea how this trend started), then we wait for my aunty to arrive, then we all find a seat in the lounge room and exchange gifts. Mum goes all out for lunch, prawns, leg of pork with crackling, chicken and cold meats, salads, xmas cake, home made icecream etc.
The afternoon is spent chilling out and dinner is leftovers from lunch.

I love xmas day

Christmas is, hands down, my favourite part of the year. It breaks my heart to be missing out on spending the day with my family again.

Likes: Christmas Eve snacks and wrapping, Christmas Eve midnight mass, waking up at 5am to open presents, French toast or bacon & eggs for breakfast, big Christmas day lunch, leftovers and DVDs at dinner.

Dislikes: Christmas ending so quickly. Credit card bills.

Typical Xmas Day: Wake up early with my siblings to open presents, have breakfast of bacon & eggs or French toast, nap, have a big ass Christmas lunch with prawns and all the trimmings, nap, watch DVDs and eat leftovers. Nap.

Starting to like Xmas more and more now that I have kids. Seeing how excited they are brings a lot of Joy.
Likes: The unreal food on offer and time off work, cramming as much golf in as I possbily can, time with family, lots of laughs, drinking piss

Dislikes: I hate crowds at the best of times but its worse at shopping centres and the amount of work I have to do to lose all the weight I put on in a week.

Typical Xmas Day: Swap each year between my parents and in-laws - Have some eggs benedict and ham for brekky, Open presents then spend an hour or so with the kids putting presents together, cleaning up boxes shit. Lunch is Roast Pork with crackling, Roast Turkey honey glazed ham and roasted vegetables that have been cooked in Duck fat. Then have mums home made pudding which has fruit in it that has been soaking in grog for 12 months so its pretty much rocket fuelled. Flake out on the couch, and try and digest all the shit you just ate. Boxing day is first beer when forst ball is bowled for Boxing Day test, watch the first session at home then straight up the pub for more beers, a punt and keep an eye on Cricket, with the old man and brother. Good time of year!
