According to sources, Chris Jericho’s future with World Wrestling Entertainment is far from certain. His current contract with the company is scheduled to expire towards the end of this year, and he has become even more outspoken than ever about his tenuous status.

In public interviews, he has been ambivalent about his future with the company, citing burn-out and frustration. One person familiar with Jericho’s backstage attitude says he’s stale and knows it, but is frustrated that he isn’t given more attention from the creative staff.

Members of the creative team don’t believe he’s worth investing heavily in to, at least until he renews his contract, which means he isn’t a top candidate to be moved to Smackdown in the upcoming draft lottery and given a renewed top tier push.

If he quits that would be a huge loss as he is great as a heel and as a face!

Another wrestler that the WWE did not know what to do with....he won't be released though, but if so, Fozzy will be given a bigger opportunity

I think the WWE needs Jericho more that he needs them. I had a chance to check out the Fozzy CD the other day and thought it was OK. A little too simple for my tastes, but a fairly good rock CD just the same. I think Jericho could survive comfortably by making music career with Fozzy.

The WWE on the other hand seem to have a bit of a talent shortage. HBK, Angle and the Undertaker don't have that long to go and it doesn't seem to me that they have any replacments ready to take over.

If Jericho needs a couple of months off to freshen up I think the WWE should give it to him and then re-open contract negotations.

WWE will probably replace Jericho with a cheaper cardboard cut-out replica in Lenny Lane

Jericho won't leave, the stuff he's saying that people claim is outspoken isn't even that bad and many others currently with WWE have said a lot worse in the past.
