Looks like a great bit of business by humphries in re signing Sheens for that extra year....I'd even add another if we make the top 4....

I wanted him gone but the team is winning the close games now - gotta give him the credit for it

We should be taking applications now for 2012...only thing about trying to be proactive and getting someone prepared possibly next year for '12 is Sheens and everything will have to be done his way.

They are winning close games that wouldn't be close games if they had some decent organisation. They should have been way ahead against the Broncos & Titans considering how the opposition was playing. They can't count on a last minute chip kick or a 50 meter field goal every week.

The best thing he did was give Gentle full control over the defence. Up until the Souths game Royce had his hand in that pie from all reports. Now it is all Gentle with Folkes aiding him.

Our attack is still sh*t because of the worthless gnomes involvement though.

I honestly believe he can still offer alot to the Tigers if he continues in his supervisor coach type position where he has less hands on. Does more video work and strategy.

Needs to get rid of Simmons alltogether.

His biggest downfall is the choices such as Fitzy, Moodie etc. Just some really bad choices

Some very good insight here...for the sake of fairness how about a few of you insightful types go take a tour of the other forums and impart a little of your wisdom on the coaching staff of the sides coming 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 (we'll cut no. 16 a little slack)

This year has been an improvement on the last 4 but Tim still does the simple things wrong

1 not picking the best players and playing favourites
2 when we have a key injury he will shuffle half our team around to try and cover the loss weakening other vital positions
3 picking a small bench and then giving minimal time to a benchie each game
4 imo these are and have always been our major problems but Tim still constantly does it

As far as i am concerned Tim has not changed his ways so therefor must go when his contract expires if not sooner if we fail again this year.

I will always thank Tim for the 2005 season. He adjusted a team to suit the rule interpretations that year brilliantly and we got the trophy because of it.

I think you can only stay at the one club for so long with Bennett being the exception.

I think Tim has done well in restructuring our club right down to the juniors but it is time to move. We need some new ideas, we have talent in our club playing ranks and I think a change of coach at the end of this season is the right time.

We will make the 8 this year and probably even the top 4 but with our squad I thought at the start of the year we should make the top 4. Going out with a good finals series would be a great way for Tim to leave our club.

It pains me to watch this side play each week. They just seem to struggle every time they hit the park. Average football. They might get the 2 points but its very unattractive, z-grade stuff at most times. How they are at the top, I'll never know.

I voted for Sheens to go. And I mean it with respect- he has reshaped the team into his own mould and by god when they are on key, they are magnificent. But how often are they on key? Not often enough to warrant his extension.

They are grinding out wins now through guts and luck. Good on them but we want a coach to have them play to their potential. Man for man, they are better than a grind 'em out team. They are prey to basic mistakes that should not be forgiven at NRL standards. Sheens and his coaching staff can do no more. With respect, and thanks for 2005, its time to pass on the baton.

PS Common fella's lighten up on the Fitzh issue. I'm sure he will not get an extension for 2011. I think we just have to agree he is a polarising player - people either like / dislike his ability. No middle ground. For the record I dont think he should be in the starting 13 most times but I dont mind him on the interchange.

He never is, was or will be a superstar but he is experienced, puts in for the team (both good & bad) and has utility value. I respect anyone that puts the WT jersey on.

Lets just say Teflon plays his favourites. Us ranting here does not make him any less valued by Teflon. The only one that will change the situation is Sheens and that I think is the reason for this poll and seeking of opinion.

PPS Above all I dont think Sheens should be forgiven for placing the club in the long standing problem we have had for halfback since Prince left at end of 06. That is unforgivable.

My 2 cents worth anyway. Cheers.

While that's true, everyone on here has been saying for years they'd rather win ugly, than lose playing good footy. Our footy has been nowhere near as good to watch, but I'm stoked that we are sitting in third (rather than in the sh*tfight at the middle of the ladder), and hope that the attack starts to click coming into the finals.

The only difference from years gone by is we are winning the close game and that comes from a mixture of experience and luck. I still think some pig headed selections are holding the team back from reaching their full potential. Their scrambling defense has improved week by week but they still look brittle up the middle. The standard of this years comp is pretty low but in saying that its also very even

(not replying to anybody in particular here)...It's 2010..not last year nor the year before that and some of us may not even be around next year so why not just buy the ticket and enjoy the ride.
As for how Sheens is going...Gould rightly pointed out that the Tigers were the strongest finishing side (with Parramatta) at the end of last season and is impressed that they have capitalised on it this year (so far). But it really needs to be put in perspective when we haven't had last years top try scorer for even one game...lose our fullback in game 1 (i think)..and lose the first choice halfback in game 2 and at least twice more for lengthy spells throughout the season thus far...if needing a stable 1 , 7 and 9 is paramount to success then whatever your personal (which it mostly seems to be) opinion of Sheens..he has done a magnifcient job of patching things up to get us to where we are now. For the record i also groan out loud at the basic stuff they get wrong...but a look at most of the other teams doesn't make me wish we were them either..and i don't believe it's just Sheens style..the Tigers have had a sort of an unorthodox culture for at least the 45 years i've been watching them...it's just a game and in fact it's really just entertainment..i for one am being entertained very well thank you very much. One other thing about Sheens..i'm not a mate of his and i've never even met the man but if we do have a successful conclusion to the season he will have done it just as in '05 ..without one S.O.O. or Aus rep player..that can only happen one way..a champion team as opposed to a team of champions..some may laugh at that but it's my feelings about it because i am a supporter of................. As for Fitzy..as Andrew Johns said...he IS a class act for the simple reason that he's not out there in the media blowing his own horn ..he doesn't say he's the best fullback..winger..halfback..centre or anything else..he uncomplainingly just gets on with it and does the best he can as a utility which is usually more than good enough..his teammates know it and the vast majority of the SUPPORTERS know it as well..EVERY player stuffs up..many do many times a game..he drops one ball with rain and lights in his eyes and the idiots (there is no other word that fits) crap on about it for a month and only a moronic lowlife would use the language that's often used here towards one of our players. Constructive criticism is a good thing but if it can't be expressed in a civil way then it's nothing but rubbish

Yes correct, then we lost Shannon Gallant at fullback so moron destroyed a winning halves partnership by changing Moltzen to 1 and Libra Lui to halfback..as you may recall the wheels then fell off...hmm classic patch up job.
